Lol, well point being I don't look like I'm fresh off the boat. BTW, I'll be changing my oil today if I get the time, but I was wondering how hot the oil is when the car is warm (IIRC always change it when warm). My civic I could change without risk of burns from the oil if it got on my hands, so do I need to be more careful with the WRX?

Just let it run till the temp gauge start climbing a little then kill it and change it. It's already gonna be 80 today.

I'll be doing it after work, so it'll probably be fully warmed up unless I wait. Also, have a feeling that drain plug will be a bitch. Not that I can't put enough force down, but from working on other

Dammit, NASIOC app crashed and continues to crash if I try editing the post. Anyway, I'd rather not lose a chunk of flesh from pulling too hard and scraping something... Done it before.

Bolt shouldn't be much of an issue, unless they've changed design in the last 2 years, it's semi-large compared to other drain holes so it comes out quick. I usually just spin it with 1 finger once it's good and loose and let it fall into the drain pan, fish it out later. Less chance of hot hand. Also drop the whole plastic under shield, it's a b otch to do through the "access" flap

The whole thing is easy, 2 bolts up front to the bumper, 4? Clips(plastic rivit things) and 2 bolts in the back of it (which Rudy would call the front lol)

Correction: the only African American ginger in Texas that drives a WRX...lol. Got my oil changed btw, was pretty easy. By the way, I'm pretty sure the oil filter changed in recent years, my Amsoil filter didn't fit (I got it by cross referencing with the blue filter part number the manual gives, although now I know mine is black). Apparently they moved to a slightly larger filter which is coincidentally a Tokyo Roki, who makes pretty great filters (these are the filters that some Honda nuts pay a lot of money for because Honda switched to Filtech in recent years). Funny story, Tokyo Roki is actually the parent company of Filtech. Anyway, OEM filters from now on, they're pretty damn nice.
