Default Dome light blow fuse and alarm not working

Hey all.

In desperate need for help.

I was modding my dome light and suddenly blown the fuse I think.
After the lights died on me my remote and alarm does not work.
I have a 2010 impreza 2.5i.

Please help. I don't know where is the fuse for the dome light and map lights.

Thanks all..

I found a 15amp lighting fuse, but not blown. Really don't know what's wrong... dome light and map lights dont' work. Only the cabin/trunk lights work. I have a 2010 2.5i 5 door hatch.

Security LED light keeps blinking. It's a consistant blink "on off on off on off on off..."

I really can't find the darn fuse...so fustrated.... gonna bring it into the dealership and hopefully they fix it under warranty.... grr.... not going to tell them I used LEDs... changed all my LEDs back to stock now... too bad I lose the stock bulb for the cargo/dome light...

I posted a video describing the problem in more detail. It's near the end of this video. (I'll edit and make a seperate video later)

Ok, so the more that I go through this problem and research it the more I suspect I missed something. I've been to no less than a dozen related threads and read them down to the last detail and every single one of them was tied to one of three seperate fuses.

Links such as...
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...nt-lock-2.html
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1989154
http://www.wrxtuners.com/forums/f72/...use-fyi-28179/
http://www.wrxforums.com/forums/39-n...ht-help-2.html

Just to name a few. These were some of the ones more closely related to my issue.

My clock DOES work. My aftermarket head unit DOES work.
My keyfob, Dome and Map lights DO NOT work.

Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for a 2012 WRX?

Thanks for any help you can give me. =0)

Yes. It's the OEM alarm.

(Sorry I thought you were talking to me)

I'd say check 15 and 20 at the interior underdash box. Shouldn't be a need to check 24 since you said the radio still works...

really easiest way to fix these kind of things is to take a flashlight and just look at each fuse and see if they popped.

Ok so I did locate and fix the problem. It was one of the "tucked away" fuses in the interior to the right of the fuse block under the dash. It was a 10A fuse labeled "BACK UP". Thanks for everyones help! =0)

I'm not sure if the factory alarm system has an led on the 2010's or not, but from my experience, there is no led but usually a light in your console. So i'm going to go with the "you have an aftermarket system"

with me assuming that it sounds like someone tied into your dome light for the door triggers, instead of going to each individual door trigger. I know on my 02 wrx, thats the only way to get a door trigger so i'm not saying it's done completely wrong.

before i get to far into this i'm just going to stop to see if it actually is aftermarket or factory lol

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! This fuse probably has a something to do with the CAN system in the car, which is why it causes failure to all of the above, but this is just a guess. This resolved my issue, thank you for posting this. I installed a compustar 7200 in my car and one day I set reservation mode got out and closed the door but the car just kept running until I pressed the start button on my remote. Guess what happened when I went out and tried to remote start the car... nothing. The remote start system was not seeing the door switch opening or being made, which is why I think this fuse is part of the CAN system because I'm not wired into the door switch, just the CAN system. I hope this helps others later.

Any aftermarket alarm worth of going into your(any) car will tap into the car's CAN system and WILL NOT be wired to the individual door triggers at all(plus it's so much extra work, even to tap the dome light). The fuse BACK UP fuse under the dash also supplies power to the CAN system causing this failure.

Thank you thank you thank you- I was an idiot and didn't remove the negative when trying to tie into the dome light for my valentine one radar detector- replaced half a dozen other fuzes before reading this- 2 min later i'm done-

No aftermarket alarm but same symptoms- No dome light and alarm not functioning.

Again, many thanks.
