Default 2015 WRX Defects

To any 2015 WRX owners,

I was wondering if you guys have noticed any defects with your cars. I've had mine for about 2 months now and noticed that the gas tank door gets stuck, I've found that if you just pull on the lever a couple times it'll open properly. The recent defect I've come across was with the audio system, out of no where an error message came on the screen with a huge orange triangle but the music was still playing. I could change the screen to something different but when I would go back to the audio one I still had the error message. The only fix I've found for that was having to turn the car off and back on.

If anyone comes across any more defects please let me know what to keep an eye out for.

Thanks.

There might be another thread or two about this. Search the General Community forum, and look for 2015 WRX

I have not noticed either of these issues. They are not normal. Take the car into the dealer for service and have them fix it for you. This is why you bought a new car with a warranty.

Really? It's currently the 6th thread on the Newbies page...

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2643857

Realizing that it wasn't #6 when you posted, but the second to last post was earlier this morning, which would have put it on the first page.

Please try to do a better job doing your own research. A simple search for "gas door" in Newbies would have found the thread.
When you start typing in google "2015 wrx gas..." it auto fills the search with "2015 wrx fuel door won't open" and brings you straight to the above thread.

We're not trying to bash you, but the information is out there and there is no need to make a new thread when clearly you have done no real research other than maybe on your phone and didn't see it on the first page you looked at.
Ok, maybe we're bashing you a little bit... sorry.

Gas door sticking (acknowledged by Subaru)

Randomly throwing ECU codes

Center information center losing connection with the head unit which says it can't communicate with the stereo. Most cases seem to be when temp is over 100 degrees outside.

****ty paint

Spoiler/trunk paint chip issue - STI (acknowledged by Subaru)

Lots of butthurt people.

No ring land failures, so hey. We got that going for us!

My buddy just had a bad spark plug. May be a common problem, as the plugs are on backorder.

It's a new model. It will have hiccups. None of these are really that big of a deal compared to what could be going wrong, and two have been acknowledged by Subaru.

On a side note, I have seen the audio issue with the MFD once, and it was not 100 degrees that day. In fact, of the 20 or so 100 degree days we have had so far, none have been accompanied by the issue. Knock on wood, no other issues have been present aside from 2 small rattles (My Jeep sounded like a bucket of bolts going down the road, so I am happy).

Please remember this is an internet forum. Issues are always over reported. The percentages here are not real world. Not trying to defend Subaru (all of the above issues should be corrected without question under warranty), just trying to provide perspective.

So far I have:

Glove box rattle
Rear deck rattle
Stereo losing signal with upper display (only seen when over 100 degrees). The thermometer said 126 when I got in the car and had cooled down to a chilly 108 by the time I got home.

I'l going in to have the TSB for the fuel door done end of week, but I haven't had any issues yet.

I was actually being semi-sarcastic

My car has been flawless so far about to hit 5k.

No issues here... hope it stays that way.

Steering wheel controls for XM radio don't work at all. They do not advance to the next preset.

Occasional glove box/passenger door rattle, can't decide which.
Rear deck rattles at low revs.
Gear shifter and cable broke, replaced under warranty.

The rattles aren't defect. They are part of the Subaru ownership experience.

Gas door and P0606 ECU code. Got the latter fixed without any fuss, and still need to do the former.

Eh, early adopters always get all the fun. First year guinea pigs and all.

I've had my WRX less than 2 months and the only things I've noticed are the gas door not opening (had that fixed at the dealership), the MFD displaying an error message about the audio (while the audio was still playing) and problems automatically BT pairing my phone with the head unit when I get into the car.
