so with these maps i no longer need to wait for you to come fly into town to do a tune?

and i'm curious to how one map can bring out all the potential for your car and mods and still be safe? or will there be revisions? cause i find it hard to believe to that just from you knowing the mods that you already have a perfect map for me and my car.

I was curious about that too. How do you get a map just right when you have not datalogged the car on a dyno under realtime conditions with those mods?

Pretty sure that he has a generic list. So if you are stage 2, then he knows you have a TBE. He would know how to scale the maps depending on if you have an intake, or one of many other mods there are. If you have something exotic, yes, a protune would be needed. I think he has a list with 6 or 7 different turbos. If you have a real question, email him.

A mail in tune is just that. Its a generic fit. It should be good enough. The idea is mainly to get you to a pro tuner, or its for those, like myself, who are too far away from a dyno to be realistic.

I HAVE EMAILED HIM ASKING THIS SAME THING. EDIT: Reread his post. He will email software to log it, then resend the tune as required.

A protune would obviously be better.

i am waiting until i am ready for a tune before i get into more details with him. If i dont get all the answers i would like, then i will limp mode to GA to get a protune. But from what i have heard, he does good work. I will let him answer any other questions.

I HAVE EMAILED HIM ASKING THIS SAME THING. He will most likely tell you to watch your boost targets, and tell him about the feel. His price includes reworking the map as required - with logs or with your butt dyno. HOw you get those logs is a different story. Tactrix, AP, whatever you are asking him to tune you with.

A protune would obviously be better.
look i'm not trying to be a dbag but if you asked him already why didnt you just give me his response to my question? a "generic fit" should be just as good as an actual tune. so then this is basically just another OTS map? using cobb's software or whatever you would like to use.

he does say that he has tuned enough to have the right map for your mods, not saying there will be follow-ups on the tune.

now when you say his prices INCLUDES reworking the map as required then i think this is a steal. but just from seeing the little bit of difficulty of how people have been trying to contact clark, and knowing how busy clark is, can he follow up on everyone that buys this?

Most maps are $150 each. 100 octane unleaded race maps are $25 extra. This includes support and map changes if something needs to be adjusted at the time the map is installed in the car.
I don't think a mail-order tune is ever going to be as good as a custom dyno and/or road tune. Tuning is an iterative process and is going to be much slower and more tedious when the tuner is not sitting there with the car.

Maybe Clark can shed some light on how much power he finds when he gets one of his mail-order maps onto a dyno and is able to play with it some more.

I agree with some of the above posters. His maps are an in between; they're better than the Cobb OTS maps, but aren't as good (yet probably pretty close for those with minimal mods i.e. Stage 2) as a custom tune. These aren't an end all, be all solution, however its a great option for those who don't have access to a tuner or don't what to pay twice as much or more for a real world tune.

Ok guys. All emails replied. I will go though PMs tonight. Please use email if possible. I cant get PMs on my phone very easy. So If I am out tuning cars as I was today I would not know you where trying to contact me.

THese maps are made based off my experience tuning different setups. I have a database with over 2500 maps in it. I have fuel, injector, MAF and timing tables for every octane and altitude and boost maps for just about every turbo. Alot of the more common setups have maps that have been refined over years. If you tell me your mods I will have a map.

That being said, I can offer maps that will be very close to what the max potential of your setup will be. Its always best to have me tune the car in person. If you would like that contact me and I will setup a trip in your area. If you contact me and I come out and tune a bunch of cars, your tune is free.

Everyone has been very happy with these maps so far. I have not had one person to date that has had much trouble. A few maps had to be adjusted by I do that at no charge.

These maps should be good for stage 2 cars or stock turbo and fuel injector cars on pump gas and bolt ons.. I don't see the point of spending 500.00 and up for a protune on a stage 2 unless you are running methonal/water injection. I am personally saving my tuning money for when I upgrade my turbo and fuel, until then clark turner maps will do just fine.

I just wanted to post that I found about 200 emails in my Bulk email or SPAM box. I reset the settings so this should not happen again. I will reply to all those emails soon. Anyone that contacted me that has not recieved a reply can send another email to me and it should go through.

Email will be touch and go for the next 3 days. I will be tuning in El paso Texas. There should be someone in my office or you can use my cell number to get ahold of me. If not send an email and I will reply back when I have a moment and or internet service. My schedule is jam packed until monday.

You seem to be finding conflict where none exists. I didn't say anyone was lying. I merely pointed out that in Clark's first post, he said that he sends logging software along with the map, which actually agrees with your statement "heard from my tuner that there is data logging that will need to be done for this type of tune. Dyno FTW!!".

If you bother to read this thread, the pros and cons of mail order tunes has already been discussed.
