Default what can you do to a 2006 2.5i to be faster?

how you guys doing, i plan to motor swap, or mabe turbo my 2006 2.5i one day. . . but have no idea what i would need? if i do end up putting a turbo on it i will run low boost because i know the motor isnt made for it. does anyone know what i would need or what exact motor would go best with less hassle? wrx? sti? what years. . .

also if i can acually get more horsepower out of this stock motor it would be great to? headers, exhaust, intake. what else would i need? bigger injectors, fuel pump? what else could i buy before getting a tune? and with all of this how much h.p do you think it could make??

i know everyones going to say you shouldve got a wrx or sti be happy with what u have, but okay u guys r happy with your cars i want to have alittle bit more speed i love my car but i do like going fast to. . thanks All help very much appriciated.

Not much to really do to the n/a motor other than intake/exhaust/headers. Most turbo'd n/a motors don't end up lasting very long. You will end up spending way more than just selling it and buying a WRX. I know that's not what you want to hear, but...

An STi motor/tranny swap will set you back about $10k FYI.

What other answer are you looking for?

No problem, just slap a huge turbo kit on it. You will be fine for 100k+ miles.

i dont get you man. you come into the Newb section im guessing to protect your self from being flamed then you act like this. Your name on here leads me to believe that your not capable of swaping a full STI set up including motor, trans, ecu, and supporting components without having a shop do it or crushing yourself under your car. why dont you take your little car and just go hit up some twisties very slowly?

If I owned a 2.5i, I would absolutely concentrate on the suspension + brakes+ wheel/tires.

So if driver permited...You would be "faster" in the corners and give those sti's a run for their money.

the $$$--> power ratio on 2.5i are horrible and would barely break 180hp w/ cams+intake+header, etc(((look on the 2.5i/na forums))).Not worth it in my op.

conc on the corners.

You can do this for a lot less than 10k. Your 2006 RS has some pretty good value. I say sell it and buy the '06 WRX. I believe this is your best bang for the buck, as you still get the bodystyle you like.

Why not take a look at the blue books and check the price differential. It's probably the cheapest and most dependable "turbo swap" you can do. Can't hurt to check!

you came in here with a dumb question roOkie... you have a 2.5i and wanted to know how to make it fast.... people are saying you can spend $10k on a sti/tranny swap or buy an actual WRX this time..... i dont see many choices between those two
