Default Accident in Outback

My dad was driving the car at a low-rate of speed and a Dodge Ram decides to gun it in reverse and back into the front fender.

The bug guard flew off, front left rim is damaged and tire blew. Front fender, bumper, and hood must all be replaced.

Driver's door is hard to open, I am not sure if it is due to the fender being messed up, or the door.

Anyways, what else could possibly be damaged? I looked under the car, and all the plastic guards (I think they are called skid plate, sorry I don't know much about the mechanicals of the car) were still intact on the car.

The car is impounded right now. When it is towed to a shop ( I am thinking our Subaru dealer), what in particular should I ask them to really check?

Thank you

Depending on how hard you were hit (sounds like either an oblique shot from the front corner or a straight shot into the fender), I'd recommend checking the front wheel hubs, the axles and seals, the CV joint (including the boot), the brake system (including the ABS mount, the rotor, and all front brake connections), the steering rack and tie rod ends, the front strut (including the strut tower, spring perches and top hats), and the front sway bar mounts and connections. I've heard of steering racks actually shearing off their mounts when hit from the side.
You many need to check your engine mounts and your exhaust connections too.

Sounds like your fender has pushed back or deformed into the front door "swing" space - that small area just behind the front fender where your door swings open and closed.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Actually, my GT was hit in the same area by a drunk driver last month. The damages might be a little different on yours but here's the rundown on the parts needed for my car (plus the associated connectors, attachements, etc):

front bumper cover, front grille, ALL DRIVERSSIDE: foglight, fender, wheel, tire, strut, control arm, upper tie bar, steering column, bearing, sway bar mount, door, side mirror, sideskirt, and a slight straightening of the frame

Plus painting . . .

All in all, about $5000 worth of damages . . .

But I must say it looks better than before the accident.
