I can only find a price difference of 99 cents, RA $159.99, DRT $159.00.
Anyone see a lower price out there? Also, has anyone experienced a lack of protection from the RA? When I initially put on my RA they looked huge.

Not sure about long term strength, there are 1,000's of blends of plastics/foams/rubbers. I would think if there is a failure, it is because the mounting holes are too close to the exterior edge of the flap. Price wise, both are cheap for using urethane, raw stock of the good stuff is pretty pricey. I have the RA ur, and they do the job.....only thing is that when shipped to me, they came curled...so one of my rear flaps is tailing back, and the other is curved forward....not so appealing

Dealers frequently sell them for much cheaper than $159.

I was looking at a set of flaps but they look too rednecky-they stick out way too far and there isn't much room for adjustment inward. Just my .02.

If you like the looks of the DRT better that's great, and you can get them cheaper. I like the size and shape of the RA and they've protected my car very well. If the RA remind you of oven mitts, then the DRT are eventually going to remind you of BBQ mitts. A few people can pull off a nice DIY with this sort of thing. But if you read their threads they spent 4,5,6 hours working on them. In the end I do better spending that time getting paid and buying good stuff. And every day on the road I see home-made stuff that looks like home-made stuff. There's no worse deal than paying money for materials, spending time working with it, and still driving around with stuff on your car that looks like crap. |

$80 w/o hardware + time to make the right mounting holes and to cut the shape you want. 1. It won't come out as clean since I don't have the cutting tools to cut the shape and make the proper holes. (DRT have clean edges compared to RAs too) 2. Time is wasted locating all the material and mounting hardware. 3. With all that time wasted I'd rather be driving my car rather to be fustrated trying to get a set of DIY flaps to fit onto the car. |

i understand about all the time it takes for one to make something that may come out looking like ass, but at the same time youre buying $160 pieces of flat plastic and from what you guys have said, dont even last.

The plastic hardware is the safety release on the DRTs.
