Default What are you getting with your REI dividend check?

They go out this week. I only got $30 this year, so I'm not sure what I'll get. Maybe use the 20% off coupon and put it toward an outdoor watch.

We'll wait for the cash and make an extra car payment, throw it into the house equity or something responsible and un-fun. Ours is huge, what with having charged everything throughout the year.

Hey man, I was just thinking about you on Friday. How is the job going?

And, yeah, going to pay bills or whatever with it. Nothing exciting.

My REI is only a few miles from my house. Doesn't get much more local than that.

REI checks can be cashed?

Redeeming Dividend for Cash
From July 1 through December 31, you can request to redeem the member dividend for cash. A request to redeem a dividend notice for cash in our retail stores may be handled as a check request at our store's discretion. Please note: Your member refund balance expires on December 31 of the year after it was issued.

Nevermind. I thought this was about the refund checks because those are going out pretty soon as well. I didn't even know what REI was until this thread. We have about eleventy other outdoor stores here.

I never know what I'm going to get with the dividends.

Last time I just walked around and grabbed a bunch of mostly small stuff I wouldn't normally buy but would kinda like, like an oontzy rain jacket last year. This year it's only ~$110

Maybe some new kicks.

Two pairs of socks, maybe. < $20 this year.

OTOH my 60K service should be completely covered by Subie Bucks.

I'm getting back $86. Trying to decided between Arcteryx Alpha SL pants (ultralight rain pants) and their Beta AR pants (multi purpose ski/mountaineer/rain). I’ll probably get the SL.

Is that in addition to the dividends you get for the lifetime membership?

As long as you do so with your pinky raised, then we're all good!

And I do, too. But I use REI's credit card and they send me a check every summer. And it's not like REI is the Wal-Mart debbil of outdoor stores.

I got a pair of Keen slip-on shoes (daycare requires us to take off shoes for the infant room). 20% off minus $22 or so = $60/shipped. Not a bad deal.

It's all dividends: I get 1% dividend on everything I use the REI VISA card for, except for purchases at REI which give back 5% or something greater (I forget) if I use the card.

I think it's 3% on REI sales.

I'm so mad that CC companies charge 3% for non-USD purchases. Now I gotta rock the Monopoly money everywhere. Almost bought my car on my CC until the seller discovered that paypal took a fee, lol.

Hmmm, that is interesting. Although, I get Visa rewards from my check card purchases.
