A lot of people really like keltec. Im just not a fan of them for CC. For CC the best possible option is something you feel the most comfortable with that has the smallest chance of failure.

Why lots of pros carry Glocks. I have 4 good buddies that have glocks that have well over 40,000 round through them and have never been cleaned. I personally don't like how they feel in my hands so I went with the Springfield XDm compact. Still a little big for CC, but it suites my specific needs.

Agree....I traded my glock in in a xdm because the glock did not fit my hand well either....I roll with a xdm as well and a naa pug as my back up "always" gun when the big boy is not kosher.

I carry an XD also, haven't justified getting an XDm yet. Had a ruger lcp but didn't like it for me. Can't shoot a glock as well as i can my xd, choice was simple.

Found out what the culprit was on my extractor issues, apparently the O-ring decided it did not want to hang around and snapped apart...oh and one of the tips of a gas ring decided to crack also.
Upgraded to a BCM SOPMOD rebuild kit

My .243 build is finally done. It's not as cool as big black guns but off my bipod and my shaky shooting still under 3/4 moa so not to bad. I did the the barrel, finish inlaying new stock, pillar bedding a little trigger smoothing and adjustment need a different spring to bring it down to 1-1 1/2 pound pull.

Lookin' good Dave. Did you end up polishing any of the internals? I'm about to take mine to the garage to give it a shot. I know the gun still needs more rounds through it but I am always upgrading whatever I can.

Had to show off my Saiga 12.

More detailed shots for those that are curious:

More money in parts than the shotgun itself. I'm pretty proud of my work and I wish I could do it again.

Anyone have a Saiga they don't want to do the work on?

It is a fab defense unit with a recoiled spring in the buffer to soak up the kick from the slugs.

Anyone want to go to a 100 yard range? I think there's one in kenmore? I have a remington .270 bolt action I want to get sighted in. Some skeet shooting would be sick too

Looking good Chesh! I think mine needs a whole new freshening up. Maybe duracoat it I dunno. Yours looks brand new! I haven't gotten to polishing the internals I kinda chickened out. Not sure once i took everything apart i'd get it back together.

Thank you. It was unfired at the time of the photos. I took it out of the box and started up the Dremel. I would highly recommend polishing. If you get to the point where you're scratching your head and Youtube videos don't help, let me know.

As for the Duracoat idea, I'm seriously considering jacking an idea I saw from the Magpul Dynamics crew.

I rarely go for the two-tone look, but the tan with black accents looks good, especially the black safety lever.

As far as polishing goes, i just wonder if i need to completely disassemble the FCG so I can polish the hammer, etc. I just watched the assembly video on CSS with the BHO and I was thinking F*$% if i screw that up i'll be taking her to the gunsmith in pieces with my head bowed in shame. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my guns and sometimes it backfires on me.

And I considered the FDE scheme at first but ended up getting a black Magpul stock. Maybe later down the road, but it sure does look good.
