Really? I might have to get another flat gasket to try when I install my Cobb DP then...

Interesting. Good to know. What heat shield was it rubbing on? One near the rear diff? I think in most cases the flat gasket will just about always work. The only benefit of the donut gasket is that it allows for a bit of movement without losing the seal.

Sounds awesome.

I'm on my 3rd exhaust in as many weeks. Been using the ultra high temp gasket in a tube. Extends the install a bit, but saves money on having to continually buy gaskets.

On another note: what, other than noise, do you hope to gain from stiffer motor mounts?

I saw those recently. They look like a pretty good design. I still don't really like plastic molded around plates, but their method seems MUCH less likely to fail than OEM or Group N. It still doesn't appear that they could totally separate if the plastic softens up or looses it's grip.

The design of the Cusco is basically just a bolt through a bushing. Even if it does get soft for some reason, it's not going to completely let go. It seems like a more robust design. I do agree that the Perrin is probably lighter/sleeker, and it's nice how they include the upper and lower mounting brackets.

I've found that you can reuse the post turbo gaskets quite a few times without really worrying about any leak that will cause problems. I have used gasket maker in the past, and it seals very well, but it's a bit of a PITA, especially cleaning it off to install the next time.

The mounts should stop my engine from flopping all over the place like this:

I'm guessing it will help transfer more power to the ground, and take some strain off everything else that get pulled out of position when the motor/tranny moves that much. I'm sure the stock mounts would have totally failed eventually anyways.

Me? Drivetrain slop. Low rpm when you get on the gas that jerking feeling is all caused by slop. Also have you seen xlubens dyno video? yeah i don't want my motor doing that.Plus auto-xing has already ripped one of my stock motor mounts and I've seen people rip the group n mounts. But I don't want solid mounts. So I choose the new Perrin mounts

Greasy hands and a sharp exhaust tip lmao. Just some small scrapes taken cared of with some Peroxide.

I LOVE the sound. It suprised me. This has to be the best cheap exhaust out there.

Always a good idea to wear gloves! I think it's one of the best sounding exhausts I've heard, regardless of price.

And it's only "cheap" because RSD is blowing out prices for some reason. It's been sold for $800 for the past 3-4 years since it came out.

Greddy themselves were selling it for $450 a while back, around March I think. I thought they were doing a model closeout on it

Very true. Especially with the silencer, which is perfect for keeping parents/wife/girlfriend/etc from complaining about it. Especially for those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have two cars

Yes, the silencer is terrible for power, but it's really great for quieting things down. I put mine in for a 3hr drive with my wife and baby and it really makes it a lot easier to handle. It's darn close to stock sound levels.

The exhast sometimes rattles. Looks like it's the gasket at the cat. I tightened it as much as I can though... later this week... or tomorrow I have to disconnect it and re-tighten it.

The bolt on the driver's side is a pain in the ass.

I think I used the wrong gasket too lol. I used the bigger one on the Cat. ( Looks like it's shaking around ).

I had a slight rattle as well, pretty sure it was from the midpipe making contact with the driveshaft guard. Retightened bolts and wiggled the hanger around and haven't had any problems since. I figure at some point I may just wrap the midpipe

Neither of the DP to catback bolts should be hard to access. The rest should be assembled before you put it on the car. Mine never rattles, so something must be loose. The larger gasket should be towards the rear, near the rear diff. The smaller gasket should be used towards the front by the downpipe.

Mine never contacted anything in that area.

With the Q300 and SPT (and probably many other quad tip), it works very well to insert the jack at a 3/4 angle from the rear. But with the Greddy this really doesn't work. I had to stack two hockey pucks onto the jack point of my jack for it to be able to reach the rear diff without hitting the exhaust. With just one hockey puck I think it would have worked, but it would have pushed up very slightly on the exhaust pipe. This will depend on how your jack is designed though.

CRAP! Thanks for the info lmao. I'll switch the gaskets tomoro after I run a quick errand. Looks like the entire exhaust has to get adjusted. Shouls take 15 minutes to fix.

Thanks man, real life saver!

Air ratchet would probably work since all the hardware is new and not seized at this point. They take a lot of air to constantly work at full power so you need a decent size compressor. A 3/8 impact gun works perfect for that kind of stuff too. Not everyone obviously has this stuff but it makes a world of a difference if you do.
