09 WRX stock intake/maf sensor Question
If I swap the MAF tubing from the stock intake into an aftermarket one does it change anything? Will it throw on a CEL? Also if I get a drop in filter, will resetting the ECU be fine without any unseen/seen problems for the 09 WRX? Also, dont bash me because I did read the Intake FAQ and some of the questions like this haven't been answered unless I missed something on that thread. Sick of random people bashing on the Newbies/Faq thread.

Stock intake to aftermarket intake will alter the air flow pattern, changing the required MAF scaling. Most intakes are close enough where you can get by without a retune, but some aren't and your AFR will be off. Off enough to throw a CEL? Doubtful. Off enough to lean out the car to the point of detonation? Maybe. It's always a good idea to check it with a wideband or get a tune to suit your specific car.
Drop-in filter won't affect anything. |

meant to say keep the stock intake box and just change the tubing that goes into the intake manifold or whatever. Was wondering if they would do anythin. Heard that if I don't get the drop-in filter tuned or something the car might drive too lean or something. Just wondering. But thanks for the input. |

I think he is talking about after MAF tube that Perrin sells. I have one. I don't know if it does anything.
