2011 Subaru WRX/STI exhaust compilation
Will everyone please post any exhaust clips they can find and note any other modifications that are on the car that could affect exhaust sound (ie. downpipe, cai, etc)
I looked around on this forum and could not find a thread like this so forgive me if there is one out there. Loudest quad-tip exhaust is the P&L catback exhaust which I have on my car. The loudest exhaust period is without a doubt the Invidia N1 race which is a single tip exhaust 2011 P&L Catback exhaust - 2011 WRX Cobb Tuning Prototype Exhaust - 2011 Subaru STI sedan Haywayd & Scott Catback exhaust - 2011 STI HKS (model?) Don't forget HKS ES Premium, it is nice and quiet. About the same as stock during idle and cruise, nice throaty tone at WOT.
It might not be on their site yet, it is dual round canisters with double rolled angle tips. I will take a pic of mine later after I wash the car. |

Damn they need to start making more exhausts for the 2011 sedan. Seems like most are for the hatch. Although it is only Jan 2011 lol...

^^^ I agree. I want the Cobb to be released, have someone buy it, use it for a bit and then sell it to me cheap.

Has anyone noticed that Cobb exhausts sound very different when compared to the other major brands such as Invidia or Magnaflow? Cobbs almost sounds raspy. I've never heard one in real life though so I have no idea how it sounds. I'm just worried it might sound like a raspy honda? T.T

I somewhat agree with you. Although I was very surprised how the Invidia Q300 sounded...I almost like didn't like it. I like the nice subtle sound of the SPT. Now only if that exhaust was a little less conservative |

I agree with what others have said about several of the exhausts sounding a bit raspy. IMHO, the Lachute turboback has that perfect combination of deep rumble at lower revs and no raspiness whatsoever at higher revs. Looks damned good too! Steep price but I think you get what you pay for with this one.
To the OP, excellent post! Last edited by Gallo2011; 01-19-2011 at 01:10 AM. |

If I ever get around to it, I'll post a video of my CNT catback on my '11 hatch. There's already one or two on youtube, and I really like the sound, especially for the price.

^How do companies justify selling piece of metal for $1200.00+ Honestly I don't think I could pay more than $700 on a catback.

word im personally looking at doing a custom set up, you can get full titanium hks mufflers and the piping needed to make a dual exhaust for a 3rd of the price of most these exhaust
wondering though, is the nameless axle back really called name less or is it just a home made exhaust system? |

It's not how much it costs to make, it's how much owners are willing to spend. To put things in perspective, my TSP Rumbler (which I'll admit was aluminized steel, so cheaper than SS) catback on my '02 Z28 was only $230, while most SS one were around $400, and the most expensive catback for f-bodies I can think of was around $900. The E92 M3, on the other hand, has a catback that runs just north of $5k. My buddy at work is having a hard time justifying that, for good reason.

damnit. I like the Blitz and HKS system the most so far - of course, they are the two most unreasonably priced ones.
