Default free ice cream in NYC this weekend

www.newamsterdammarket.org

Lower Manhattan between Beekman Street and Park Slip, this Sunday August 22nd

Amy and I will be set up selling ice cream, but if you come flash the international hand-signal for Nasioc OT (aka teh shockar) I will hook you up with a freebie.

There will be five other ice-cream vendors at this market, and I do not believe they will participate in this offer, but it can't hurt to try.

Our flavors will be:

Roasted Peach & Black Pepper
Hay (it's quite good)
Beet

all made with Catskills-sourced ingredients.

Most weeks we do one "safe" flavor (Strawberry) and a "weird" flavor (Basil)

We probably give out twice as many samples of the "weird" flavor and surprisingly sales are usually very close. Corn didn't do so well, but Basil outsold the "safe" flavor the week we brought it out.

It's NYC, I would say the average taster is more sophisticated than elsewhere, which leads to odd flavors doing well.

If I hadn't spent every trip to and from work this week passing the same hay fire I might attempt that flavor.

Strawberry-Basil (combined) is one of my favorite cocktail flavors! It sounds weird but it is really good.

Woah, I live right near there. I'll have to come check it out. You make ice cream for a living? I thought you devoted all your days to making PRoN!

I wear about 4 hats these days, but threw the PRoN hat out of the mix a year or two ago..
