Sinc you have a new car, it would probably be a good idea to invest in a pressure washer. but since you live in an apt., youd need to take it to a self wash place. luckily i only live a half a block from one

I would just avoided the brushed auto-washes. I used to use one till I started noticing scratches along the side of the car. Each time after that they got worse till I wised up and decided to bail on that. Luckily a good polish and wax covered most of them up... :notamused:

The way I stated is the best solution for the means this guy has. No way to clean your car..... so take it to a toucless. I personally do everything by hand for days on end but that's the quickest way. I used it for my cars in the winter as well as 10+ cars for when I'd get a fleet of them ready quickly for a car show event.

Stay away from the auto-car washes and go to a self serve. Buy yourself some supplies too. Get some microfiber drying towels and a good cleaner wax.
Yeah, don't listen to the guy on the Subaru commercial.
"People think I don't love my Subaru."
"I let the elements take care of it."

Whenever a dirty car goes through the autowashers; I'm sure the dirt still gets thrown back and forth to the next car too.

I wash my car 2 times a week; if I'm bored, 3.

OT, but:
Our state is considering banning people washing their cars in their driveways.
"The soap drains into the systems, harming the environment."

It doesn't concern me, because I live out in the country with gravel roads (fun during winter btw)
Still angry because we are taking up all these pointless rules.

so the jet streams in the touchless wash wont harm the paint at all?? or spray up and damage the fins on the intercooler?

You can't hand wash your car at -20F to -45F because the water you use to wash the car with will be a block of ice. And besides, washing at that kind of temperatures won't be pleasant. If I were to choose to wash my car at that temperature range, I would choose to go to a laser auto wash and get it all cleaned up.

i usually hand wash while the weather is nice and switch to no touch car washes in the winter when its too cold out.

i think that all of the chemicals/salt/sand they put on the roads in the winter is a lot worst for the paint than running the car through a no touch wash once a week or so.

im currently having this same problem. ive been used to washing my car in the driveway of my parents house, but i will be moving out soon to an apartment.
i know that all those self wash places use the cheapest crapiest soap, not to mention
the dirty scrub brushes.
and a auto wash place never cleans a car as well as by hand.
thinking of taking it to a professional hand washing place but thats $20 a wash.

easy solution.
take it to subaru.
free car washes for life!
also, if you ever take it to a self wash place, just take a bucket and a sponge with you..
fill up the bucket with water, use your own soap, and BAM!
you have a nice covered car wash with a pressure washer.

and it never costs more than $1.75 for me
