Personally I think it's a conspiracy. We tax the **** out of the oil companies...

So this is their way of getting back at us. :-)

I mean... It's not like there's any real hardcore legislation to regulate the price of gasoline.

Exactly. That is what what I think. They know we need fuel so they can charge anything they want up to within reason before one person says "**** this" and starts a riot or revolt with guns and **** and starts taking out gas company execs. All it takes is for a few people to say no to the gas prices and then all of America hopefully would say no and start revolting against gas companies and the government.

Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!! Get the guns!!!!! I call taking out Rex W. Tillerson and you can get Carl Henric Svanberg. $1.25 a gallon here we come!

Just joking but on a serious note gas prices are getting out of hand. Our gas is so expensive yet we still have crappy octane!!!!

People who do things, or follow trends, even if they don't understand it.
Prime example:

People who are neck deep in this "Gangnam Style" ****. 98% of this song is Korean, and one English sentence "Hey, Sexy Lady". Yet, everyone is downloading it. The radio plays it. The clubs downtown play it. NOBODY knows what the lyrics are/mean.

Stupid sheep...

Not korean and been listening to Kpop for years, along with Jpop, also I watch Anime in Japanese, and Korean Soaps with subs of course. I was surprised to hear PSY on the radio, but good for him. My favorite is watching Hyuna in the "bubble pop" music video not necessarily because the song is all that.

I guess I'm just saying I'm not a sheep if anyone cares

What do you think happens when our bands go overseas? I guarantee people don't understand what the hell our bands are saying.

Music transcends language barriers.

It's a catchy song, hilarious well-produced video, and it's fun.

It's a lot better than 92% of the rap music out there right now.

Hell, Rammstein sings in mostly German. That doesn't mean they kick any less ass.

For all you Gangnam Style "sheep" ...

A girl who is warm and humanly during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist
I’m a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that
I’m a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
You know what I’m saying
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

So I guess you ONLY listen to music for lyrical content? And I'm pretty sure most people DO know what it's about.

Yes! I've been listening to Utada Hikaru for over 10 years and wasn't told until this summer what some of her lyrics meant. It was by a friend that speaks Japanese. Pretty nice lyrics that helped me to appreciate the songs that much more.

Amen! Had a friend share some of their music at a camping trip earlier this summer and it was a blast to chill to Rammstein. Excellent band.

I started turning to foreign music as a teen when I felt that American music was losing it's way. I think it's cool that a Korean song can make it big over here. I don't go to the club or listen to the radio, so you guys and my coworkers are really my only exposure to what's "popular" at the moment. hahahaha

I wouldn't disagree music doesn't break culture barriers, I won't lie and say it's not catchy either, or fun to listen to.
If Plasti-Dip became the next huge fad, and there's commercials, and everyones car sports it, I know even you would shake your head at it.
Even if it does make 92% of others cars look better.
It grinds my gears when it became huge because it does get annoying hearing it EVERYWHERE.

Yes. That's exactly what it is. I don't support music I don't understand.
It's why I don't vote without watching the debates and speeches.
It is kind of nice to know what you're getting into doesn't it?

I agree about voting, I don't understand when people say you should vote no matter what. That kind of ignorance is extremely counterproductive. Saying people are dumb to listen to music if they don't know what it means though, you might as well stop listening to music and just read poetry if the sound and rhythm is irrelevant. I'm sure that's not quite what you meant though so I digress.

Your right, people are sheep. Some people I know think this is cool cause if they do, someone else might think they are cool. I don't understand it and don't need to lol

I never said they were dumb. The forum is what grinds my gears, not display my ignorance for others interests. Even you have to admit people follow big trends for reasons they cant explain. Gangnam style is one of them that grinds my gears.

So rather than jump on the Gangham Style or iPhone Fan Wagon, your bought the BRZ?

Geez...It's music! You either like it or you don't.

Frankly, its a catchy beat but I don't go around hopping like I'm on a pony or air-humping in elevators - Brando might though. I do have to say that I like the many parodies that are out there.

Funny.

People hate on Gangnam Style because people are "sheep" and follow a trend and everyone is in agreement in how stupid it is.

I hate on people putting rubber spray on their cars because people are "sheep" and I get crucified.

Same ****. People follow trends. Eventually it'll go away.
