Spent a couple hours at the track today testing out this new (to me) 75x300. The lack of IS is proving... difficult. 200+ pics and maybe 10 were in focus. I was low on food and high on caffeine so it was partly my fault, but I was still disappointed with the outcome.

Best one of the day

The only other one I was somewhat content with... :/

I don't think the lack of IS is the issue. The first one looks like you were using a somewhat slow shutter speed and the vehicle is moving away for you which is going to be tough to capture sharp. Head on and away shots also give me problems. I'm way better at panning. I'm sure 07LegacyGT will give you some tips if he sees this. He shoots a ton of track stuff.

Got a phone call from a friend today and they said "hey man, you should walk out your front door and take a look" Ok...?

There was a parade of sorts.

Lots of PP. I was going for a certain 'look' obviously. Cropped out anything that would give the date away.

Was surprised that I got any sense of motion as this guy was doing all of 7mph

Same as the first, different angle and far less PP
