Starter: yes.

Clutch: if the FXT trans has a pull style clutch (most likely it does), yes.

Yes it is a pull style, I have searched the forums and can find a ton of stuff about the swap but those two questions I havent found asked or answered......I did read 1 post saying dude used the FXT DS but nobody confirmed it needed to be done? My understanding was that the 04-05 FXT 5mt was basically a pnp 4.44FD setup for the bugeyes and being that its essentially the same case just subtle changes to gearing and syncros and such, I would think using my current DS is going to be fine.....if i am wrong or anyone knows different for sure feel free to chime in.

You are correct. As long as you change the rear diff to the forester one as well, it is a plug and play setup. Only downside is highway rpm's.

yea thats what i heard to....but i dont mind....i read with a 235/45R17 tire it should be around 3,200ish rpms at 75mph which isnt that bad....i do have a full 3" turbo back but it doesnt drone to bad, just turn up the radio lol from what i have read the 4.44 setup is the cats pajamas for in town mountain cruising which i do alot of so I'm pretty excited to see how it is....this car has been a headache since i got it and it's about time it puts a smile on my face after all the frustration its caused me lol
