How hard is it to get going on a hill using the hand brake to hold the car? Are people that uncoordinated that they can't release a handle and operate two pedals at the same ****ing time.

Not sure why the handbrake is needed on a hill, never used that option either.

Not to be mean but go ahead and do that. If youre not a Subaru enthusiast then trade out. This company has a long line of history with these cars and they have come a long long way. I've grown up loving these cars and owning one makes me part of the family. Love... It's what makes Subaru, a Subaru

That there is my problem with the Hill-Assist, I am quicker than it is, thus it is holding the car back. Plus I don't like that it holds me from rolling backwards when I want to either, a nanny device that should never have been invented, people should buy an automatic if they honestly think they need Hill-Assist. This is without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever seen a car company add to an automobile, it basically teaches/enforces bad driving habits.

All of the complainers sound like they do not like tech progress or adapting to change.
Do you guys complain about cruise control and ABS too? What about 7,500 mile oil changes? All stupid and unnecessary? Is this tread about Hyundai Genesis vs. Subaru WRX? |

To do what you are suggesting, you'd have to be in neutral and rolling backwards as you are getting into first gear. You can't invoke the brake at all or else the assist engages. |
