I would get an alignment and set the front on the stock car to -1.5ish and notice how much understeer is reduced…( not eliminated) but reduced.

Did you do an alignment with the stock suspension? Curious to see the settings if you still have them. Is there a cost effective way to get camber in the rear yet? I am probably going to keep the stock suspension for a while, maybe do a slightly stiffer rear bar. But I want to get -1.5 at all four corners first and see how that is.

Good question, I want to know that as well. I want to do -2.0 rear so I can run wider tires and +38 wheel on springs without rubbing. I normally have 4 or 5 people in my car, so without rear roll and camber, it will rub.

FYI: Running 18x9 +32 on a stock 2015 WRX with no modification (not even alignement) and it works well, no rubbing:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...&postcount=530

I can't wait to get rid of that wheel gap. Question to RCE:
How much "drop" do you expect to get with your springs?
If the drop in itself is not enough to remove the ugly wheel gap, any suggestion on what can be done without compromising ride quality/security?

No worries, you will like the drop.

The new car doesn't require much to get rid of the gap.

lowered half and inch on T2's rear camber is -2.0 and -1.9 front. Stock mounts.

Caster is +6.9ish.

Stock suspension -1.5 is doable. rear -1.7

Order directly from RCE, they are currently taking preorders for '15 springs. Call them or shoot them an email.

So what handling mods would you guys recommend for a 2015 WRX, driven as a spirited DD? I don't want it to be too jarring, but if there are some improvements to be had still I'm all ears. It seems as if the suspension/handling is upgraded for this MY, and previous advice for upgrades wouldn't apply anymore.

No matter what they do to these cars they will always exhibit understeer.

They still need:

*more front camber

*equalized rear camber and corrected when lowering

*adjustable sway bars will allow some enthusiast to "tune" the handling more at the limit.

* some will want to lower the car for looks and some will want the handling advantages of that mod.

I would say "same ship different day, but better ship different day and most mods are STILL needed.

For super casual enthusiast, leave it alone and have fun !

This may warrant it's own thread...

Looking at suspension only, what is needed to make a 4th gen Impreza hatch (2011+) handle like a 2015 WRX/STI?

Are the Impreza 2.0i bits (hubs, transmission, diffs, axles, etc) going to explode if one tries to track it or rallyx it?

You'd need stiffer front springs (50#) and 2mm/1mm larger frt/rr swaybars. Upgraded bushings all around, steering rack bushings, upgraded struts w/better valving and you'd still be missing the torque vectoring capability and quicker steering ratio plus chassis stiffening.

I think you can get a 2011 to handle aa well or better with chassis bracing, bushings, and a good set of quality coil-overs/camber plates with 450# springs, adj LCA and roll center kit plus a good alignment. The steering won't be as quick and you won't have torque vectoring but it will probably ride better and allow for some lowering as well.

Great info and feedback on what you guys have learned from the 15's! I had driven a 15 WRX a couple times over the past month and was more consumed with the new engine, but now after driving a STI I was really impressed with how good turn in, steering feel with the new rack, and damping/spring combos felt on an entirely stock car with the exception of a more aggressive alignment. As mentioned before, so glad Subaru focused on the chassis and handling, it had been unaddressed for a while.

Wow... I just came back from test driving a 2015 WRX. I pretty much agree with what you saying. Subaru did a great job with the 2015 WRX; making it feel a lot like (and better) than my modded 06. Right out of the box it's a great drive; and I'd much prefer to not have to mod the car. All around, the bushings are definitely a grade or so stiffer than the Impreza (which I also just test drove). I would probably take too much bother to get the Impreza right; but doable. I'm sure the aftermarket would love to sell all those parts.

One complaint is I don't like the valving of the stock WRX dampers. They work, so that's not the problem. My issue is I'm coming from Ohlins FPS... and the stock '15 WRX dampers aren't as awesome. Maybe FEAL could do something with them.

Bottom line... I'm scrapping my consideration for the regular Impreza or Crosstek. The delta is too big.

(I said Crosstek because I rallyx... and my 06 has King springs)

Looks Great !!! What is the measurement to the underside of the lip to the floor? When can we expect some first drive impressions? And, last question, you measured the spring rates of the factory bits and posted them in the OP, but they are like 5.3k..was this the spring / shock combined? Just wondering the delta is to the yellows measured the same way.
I got your email, my card number is coming.

Hope to hear about WRX info soon. I want the springs, but I can't pull trigger on something I don't know exactly unless there is a good deal. That's why I didn't pre-order.
