Default Door wiring harness swap 93-97 to 98-01

Hello!

I checked everywhere but couldn't quite find an answer to this!

Trying to swap 2000 rs door cards into a 93 impreza L and the wiring harness and plugs are completely different. The new one has power locks and stuff the old one doesn't but as long as the window works thats most important to me. Can I just cut and splice wires and make it all work or will the newer door wire harness somehow work /retrofit? Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Good question.
When you say different, do you mean where the door harness plugs into the chassis harness, or within the door itself?

Reason I ask is, I just helped do a 05 STi full swap into an 02 WRX. The front door harnesses were fine, the rears had 2 plugs from the door to the chassis on the WRX but a single plug on the STi.
We pulled the rear door harnesses out of the STi and it plugged into the WRX window motor, switch, speaker and lock just fine.
