Think I am going to just throw these 1300s in the garbage. I dont want to send them back and then end up having to tune them somewhere down the line.. LOL 2nd time they would go back.

FIC 1680s will be going in. I know the issue was with fuel heating and mainly pertained to mutlipump supras and some EVOs. The issue was also on gas, and not e85. I dont plan to run much 93 in the car.... so I am just going to either get the 1680s or maybe 2ks from Tony since the GTR and supra project are getting sets both.

As for the XTi.. Well I love it, been driving it around getting some more miles on the motor. Might take it to the track this weekend. I can't get enough of the high compression. In 6th on the highway it feels like a NA car and will hit 10psi almost as fast as it gets to 0 from vacuum.

I have had 3-4 sets of DW 1300's in the last 3 months that completely sucked. After trying to tune them, I finally pulled them and flow tested them... sent them all back. customers have since switched to Five O 1400-1800 and thy are a lot better!

Hey Max,

The DW1300 injectors are a little longer than the stock injectors. If they are installed with the supplied o-rings, spacers, and seals they will fit like the stock injectors.

If you had your custom rail made to fit the OE injectors, you should be able to install the DW1300's as well.

So I threw in some id1ks today and it fixed 90% of the problems. No more bucking, ****ty idle and backfires or cylinder misfires. Now I just need to address a few little things that have been nagging me, mainly waiting for my AP to come back so I can turn my idle back down to a normal 850-900. With the 1300s the only way it would somewhat stay running was with a 1200rpm idle

You are not, I have some 1300s that work great on both 93 and e85 as well.

They are totally hit or miss though and a bad set well mess up your day.

These have been back before, and waiting for them to get exchanged etc is really frustrating at this point. Not to mention no matter what happens the blame is placed on the tuner, car etc.... In this case I'm the tuner, and swapping in the id1ks made a night and day difference.

I can say that 1 injector, the cylinder that had the weird random miss was brownish now instead of the black like the other 3. Looks like it was running hot or something. I would be happy to send them back, wish you guys made a injector that was reliable and fell between the 1k-2k range.

This is why I took your advice and sprung for the id2000. Not to mention the other people having issues with the DW and other brands even.

Fwiw after trying different large side feeds it just comes down to final pulsewidth. You can mess with latency all you want. If you need around 1.3 to idle the response takes a dive. Thus it is not directly related to fuel, but of course e85 requires more pulsewidth thus moving the injector into a reasonable response area.

I'll be that the cars that run fine on these injectors require more fuel at idle for some reason.

Small update

Been playing around with the XT on 93 on the high compression motor. I have another 500 miles to put on it before I switch it to e85 and wanted to at least have a little fun. The fuel issues are all resolved and Paul@P&L hooked me up with some new rails, reg, lines so I took the time to clean up the engine bay too.

The motor is super responsive and very very efficient. The id1ks are running around 60-64% at this boost.

Im actually pretty happy with it, cant wait for e85 and 30psi

This thing is tuning like an Evo 9 timing wise. 2 degrees over my usual Evo maps on 93 and a 35r.

Btw, I lost the thread on the vf power band shape and low end hit vs linear mid and more top end. I agree and usually tune my vfs in the manor.. I have 3 vf cars in the 11s as proof, don't worry I'm building another to drive the point home.

^Nice! I'll save you some build trouble, just retune mine and I'll run it enough to get in to the 11's! You know, just trying to help you out.
