My advice if you want real power real cheap is this:
1- find out if you can get e85 regularly in your area, if so you're golden. Injectors, pump and a tune will get you more power than you can handle on the road for under a grand. 2- if you can't get e85 and still want stupid power you'll need a turbo upgrade. This means injectors, inter cooler, downpipes a turbo and a tune. This will cost about 3 grand. You'll need a couple minor little bits like boost controllers but that's the simple, "get stupid power you'll never really use on the road" guide. |

I've seen a build hit that horsepower for about $30-35k. You will need a fully built block, upgraded/modified heads, modified intake and exhaust valves, rotated gt35r, fmic, injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail top feed conversation, etc. As far as reliability is concerned, just because you're making huge power doesn't mean it can't be reliable... To a certain extent. Contact Maxwell Power Services if you want the best built blocks.

Werd. When my old STi blew a tuner offered to 'build' it. I'm glad I didn't do it now... whole nother can of worms unless you've got deep pockets.

Below you see what i have already: the shop i bought the car from said it makes 300hp at the crank on pro-street tune with 1.5 psi over stock. Could this be an accurate number?
What would i need to do to get 300-330 hp at the wheels? Located DFW Texas 93 pump gas mustang dyno 2005 subaru baja Turbo Ej255 automatic cobb intake and MAF no cats up-pipe downpipe turbo is aftermarket without but looks stock size. sti injectors some type of upgraded oil pump (i'll have to check the spec sheet) hardened crossdrilled crank arp headstuds sti heads sti rods sti lifters sti injectors car runs quick but would love a little more out of it. i hear the auto-tranny is reliable to 400hp my thoughts are i will need a bigger turbo (blouch td05 18g or td05 20g-xt), fmic and a re-tune. Hey new here.
Looking for some opinions. 2006 sti 1. I'd like to hopefully hit 320 whp. 2. Mustang dyno 3. Good speed phx az. Clark tuner 4. Phoenix AZ sea level 5. 91 octane (az, cal, NV **** gas) Mods are as followed Cobb intake and box No name turbo inlet Invidia divorced waste gate DP no cat Invidia exhaust race series no cats Perrin up pipe Mishimoto 3 core radiator Mishimoto intercooler hose kit Turbo smart recirculating bov Grimmspeed boost solinoid Fuel pressure regulator Accessport v3 Ptp turbo blanky Cobb heat shield Stock top mount Stock turbo and injectors. Walbro 255 fuel pump Stickers (+5 hp per sticker) I know I'll be pretty much maxing out both injectors and turbo. So I'm not sure if my goal is achievable but I've read of people doing it. My engine isn't very tired. 62k miles I get tuned in a month, appointment has been made and deposit paid. Let me know of any recommendations to hit my goal (besides turbo, injectors, e85) just small stuff that won't break the bank. Thank you Kalvin Sent from my SM-N910V using NASIOC mobile app |

Dude, you can even check Goodspeed's website and look at dyno graphs. To hit 320whp on 91 octane you would need a gt30. Not a vf39.... http://www.goodspeedperformance.com/...rin%20gt30.pdf You might hit 270whp. Maybe. http://www.goodspeedperformance.com/...4st%20vf39.pdf Last edited by rexblake; 01-07-2015 at 03:54 AM. |

And I'll probably be getting the gt30 as well. I feel like that's a pretty big turbo to only make less 100whp then stock. But oh well. Sent from my SM-N910V using NASIOC mobile app |

Yeah, that's a true heartbreaker of a dyno. I'm not sure how much boost rey were running with those gt30 or what size they were either. Could be an old school 3071.
