Default What who should I expect?

06 STI in Phoenix,AZ

Should have my car back from Forced Air Technologies before Thanksgiving weekend then I have to break in my engine after a eBay turbo grenaded one of my Pistons after dumping a quart of oil into my combustion chambers.

Tuner will be dynocomp in Scottsdale,Az
91octane as Robert at F.A.T says to not bother with E85 as its corrosive the fuel lines and engine without having them upgraded. Not including the rarity of gas stations that carry E85.

Mods
Blouch 1.5xtr 8cm hot side
Dw300 fuel pump
Dw 1000cc side feed injectors
Perrin FMIC
Invidia 3" downpipe and 3" catless exhaust
Mishimoto turbo inlet
JE 100mm forged Pistons
Manley H-Tuff rods (F.A.T had to have my block bored out to fit the 100mm Pistons in order to save the block after the catastrophe) which in turn makes my engine a 2.6L instead of a 2.5L
Cobb short ram air filter and air box
TGV deletes

Unsure what dyno Dynocomp uses and temperatures in the Phoenix area around the time my engine is broken in should average 65 degrees Fahrenheit

I just got this 2008 Wrx last week
It has 89xxx miles on it so that worries me about handling the power and also the tranny being a 5 speed. This process will be a long one, I am going to take the time to research my car and learn everything I can then buy everything I should and than I will start the building process. so questions answered here
1. HP at the WHEELS (whp) or hp at the CRANK (chp)? 300whp

2. What type of dyno are you going to be shooting for this number on?
I will be getting it dynoed at Turn In Concepts
3. If possible, tell us what shop it is. Someone may know how high or low that particular dyno reads. TIC

4. Where do you live? If not a well known city, what is the elevation?
Cincinnati, Ohio
5. What kind of gas will you be using? (octane level)
93 oct
6. Are you opposed to a FMIC?

Only wanting 300whp because I know that's still a fast ass car and reliable daily, Now I know upgrading the turbo to a vf52 will already make a good increase on power but I know more things will be needed to reach 300whp and ALSO handle that 300whp without destroying things. Any advice is greatly appreciated and don't forget I am doing my own research so don't be like "search bro we ain't going to baby you answers"

I really enjoyed this thread a lot of great information and it gives us new people a decent idea of the ball park numbers you can hit with 'X' modifications. I will definitely be referring back when I really start modding my car, as soon as the loan gets close to paid off.

ok so I live in central nj, I have a 2016 WRX Base, nothing upgraded yet, but I do have the Cobb v3 Accessport. My long term goal is 350whp. After reading this thread, I now want to put the stock tune back on the car and put it on a dyno, do a few %100 stock pulls. Then reflash the stock 93 octane cobb tune, do a few pulls.. this should get me good baseline numbers.

My ultimate question is what would yall say I need to do to be close to or over my 350whp goal?

You need a fmic and a giant turbo, preferably rotated. Something 65-70lb/min. Not sure if your injectors and pump will be enough or not.

2013 WRX 5-speed

Bone stock planning. I want to hit 350-400whp. This is also my DD and I want a fun town car (low turbo lag). What turbo would I be looking for? And could I do this with a TMIC? I would really like to avoid a FMIC.

Edit: oh 93 octane

The Cobb 20g should get you in that hp and have low lag

Hello everyone and thank you in advance for replying.

I have a 2013 WRX and im looking to go catless dp, n1 single exit exhaust, process west verticooler, fuel pump and 1000cc injectors.

My question is should i do something else before one of the aforementioned things?
If not what kind of power gains could i be looking at with a pro tune at boxer4racing?

You should call them and ask.

In general, you'll be at stage 2 level power. 250-300whp depending on dyno, fuel, etc. other things to look at might be a ebcs.

Is the ebcs a requirement when going to stage 2+ and beyond.

No requirement per se, but certainly helpful if you want to push higher than stock boost. Some tuners have preferences, I'd suggest you call and ask your tuner.

I have an 02 wrx currently making 224whp/243wtq tuned by granite state dyno in nashua NH. I believe they run a mustang dyno. mods include PnP stock exhaust manifold, perrin uppipe, stock td04-13t, Nvidia catless v2 downpipe, nvidia n1 catback exhaust, perrin SRI, cobb EBCS, and a mishimoto TMIC....

My current goal is 300-325whp, anything more and ill have to look into building the shortblock. Let me know if i should also do TGV, turbo inlet, and BOV.

Default 15+ Wrx

Hey all, coming from a 2010 VW GTI where you can pay $600 for a tune and make 60+ chp and 90+ ctq. I am heavily considering a 2017 WRX. I know that Subaru's are different, and to avoid getting flamed, would you recommend a protune immediately, get an AP first, or do other mods and then tune? My GTIs tune adapts to other mods (other than a downpipe), so I want a little more info about the WRX. The AP claims approx +10% hp and +20% tq, that seems pretty low, is that because the OTS maps are conservative? What gains do protunes typically yield? Thanks all!

I would just be happy to hit 300 on a dyno. Its a daily driver on E85 with a 16g.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a bit of advice and I really have two questions:
  1. My car is currently pro tuned and I would like to squeeze out some more HP. What upgrades can I make that will yield me more HP/TQ without blowing my current tune. The car is a
  2. Any suggestions on a mod path that I should take? I want to start doing my research ahead of time and the wife has me on lock down with cash.
GOAL:
A family car on steroids with between 310-340 WHP. I do not plan to upgrade the stock turbo. It is a family car and my DD, but at the same time I want it to be a blast when I am flying solo.
