Default '02 WRX Cobb Accessport

I'm sure there are many other accessport reviews out there, but I'll just put in my $0.02 anyway. I ordered my AP from velocityfactor.net. Their online order status system isn't updated, but I gave them a call and a rep called me back with a tracking number. Took about a week to come. Very easy to install, just plug in and flash. I flashed to a stage 1, as I have yet to obtain an exhaust. Even so, I am impressed with the power. After letting the ECU 'learn', which literally took the time of a 10 minute drive blasting around at WOT, I can definitely feel a difference. I tried the 'Vishnu reset' discussed on these boards after flashing. Didn't work. I most likely did it wrong, but the car learned after just a drive in the cool fall night air, so it was not needed. After it learned, I was boosting up to 14.4 psi in 4th and 5th on the highway. Previously max for me was around 13 something. The power delivery is now buttery smooth, and boost comes on a full 1000 rpm lower! Amazing! I now am getting positive pressure at 1500 rpm in 4th gear. By 2000-2500 there is some nice, around-town torque available. Definitely a plus. Some people say the added power is less noticeable beacause it is smoothed out and doesnt kick you in the butt as much. But IMO there wasnt enough power to kick you in the ass to begin with. Now, the turbo spools quicker, but I def get pushed back into the seat more, and the whole rev range feels stronger. If you are unsure, just watch the speedo while doing like a 30 mph to 80 mph highway WOT blast, and you will see the diff! It seems true that the ecu resets on every gas fill up, but a couple WOT highway pulls and I was back to 14.4 psi. The AP itself is a bit large however and the OBD cable sucks to have plugged in all the time cuz its so big, but thats been said many a time before. But it works, and it works well, with minimal fuss, so I can't complain. Thanks Cobb, I am a satisfied customer! I cant wait for stage 2!
