Default Mid-A Range Day II

Time for a range day, rifle and pistol.

The proposed range is Clark Brothers in Opal VA.
Their range policy is free range use but you must buy your ammo and targets there. For .223 and black powder their ammo prices are about the same as Walmart, Blaster88 reported 9mm as being higher than average.

I will be bringing: M16A2 1911A1 1851 Navy and hopefuly M98 Mauser.

If you are interested lets start looking at some dates toward the first part of Feb.

Default Tally Ho !

I'm in,

By then I'll have a Forester so I can blend in with y'all in the parking lot.

I'll be bringing my CCW and Sig Sauer 229 in .40 S&W.

If anyone wants to shoot it all I ask is that you buy your own rounds (Clark Bros. reloads are OK).

I vote for Feb. 22nd

Scott,
I can definitely talk my roommates into this one, easily. We'll just need to know a date, other than the long weekend for the most part.

AJ

Can Bring:
.50 Cal Rifle
AR-15's
Various Pistols

AJ,

Ever played with a Mark 19?

They are pretty cool (thup, thup, thup, pause... BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!).

We had those on our Hummers. Only thing we ever fired was the practice rounds.

i'm all over that - how does that range feel about rapid fire - the nra range gives us dirty looks... but it's the only place around i've been to that lets you do it

Erik,
No, I haven't unfortunately, and where I'm headed in the Navy, the only thing we'll do is let the BSY-1 give us targeting data, and let the FC's hit the button to launch the MK48 ADCAP. But I'd really like to get my hands on one of those. My roommate fired three 5 round bursts down at Quantico this summer, he loved every second of it.

I had to dispose of a case of the practice rounds once. I coulda blowed em up, but I had a M203.

That was fun.

What's the max range for Clark Brothers? Or do
they just use a short range with smaller targets?
I am trying to find a range that has a distance
of 500m for an inter-office bet that fellow
employees have going on.

Thanks,

Rob

Now I know what Clark Brothers is! I am in too if I am not away for work. But late February is no good for me though. Besides, wouldn't want BossGVR4 to shot me for not using my stock turbo.

Can we bring bombs too? How much are their 9s if they are more the average? I usually get them for $8-$9/box. Thanks.

9mm is considerably more expensive than average. I picked up a box of 50 Winchester 9mm from K-Mart for about $7.50, IIRC. The cheapest box of 9mm is something like $27, but it may have been 100 rounds. That was Bob's Ammo, some non-name. Winchester was $33 or something.

If its 100 in the box, then it's only about 2x as expensive. If its 50, then its almost 4x for the same ammo.

But you get the range time for free. The way I figure it, it is a little less than taking your K-mart Ammo to Blue Ridge Arsenal.

If you wanted... I can bring 10 people into Izzack Walton leauge.. They have 25,50 and 100 yard shooting range, as well as 3D archery, Skeet shooting and a fishing lake. Totally free Range is closed on Sundays... Bring your own ammo and targets...
