Reading up on the front strut tower

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1211609

unless i was getting it for dirt cheap I will stick to just the RSB and eventually a slightly better brake pad whenever I burn the oem ones up.

So since were all on the subject of strut tower stiffeners, does anyone recommend the Perrin product over the Cusco unit? I noticed the Cusco unit is hinged at each end while the Perrin is not. I've done some reading on strut towers but so far have not managed to find any definitive information on whether this detracts from or has no effect on performance. Does anyone have any opinion on these parts and which may actually be better?

Just ordered a set of Flapatax Simplified black flaps with silver logos, vinyl badge overlays in black CF and spark silver metallic, and yellow tint overlays for fogs. Should work good with my premium DGM hatch. Next up are Cobb SS w/ KB bushings and STi RSB

Cool, I'll keep an eye out for you. I just haven't seen many 2012+ Imprezas on the road in general...

I don't know about Unknown77, but I've been very happy with Lamin-X overlays. I have the yellow on my fog lights.

I bought yellow film for my fogs off ebay for about $2, and it is holding up fine.

Oddly enough, I've been seeing a few of them on my daily commute.

However, the exterior styling is a bit "sleeper", and subject to mis-identification as a Toyota product...

Hey, are you coming out to the Richmond meet tonight?

I got em from jdmfanaticvinyl.com. They're pre-cut, the reason why I didn't go the route Zeeper took is because I didn't want to mess up cutting the tint haha.
Oh and I just ordered the KB SS kit with bushings instead of the Cobb because there's a discount code "FACEBOOK" that saved me 10%, which ended up being cheaper than buying the Cobb adapter and bushings separately.

Default cabin air filter short review

Before allergy season picks up.
bold statement here: So subaru cabin air filters are junk
pulled my filter at 5k to take a look at it and I was shocked how cheap the filter element was. So I decided to do a comparison between the oem filter, the wix filter and the atp filter

OEM
MSRP 26.95
Online Price 20.21

rockauto prices:
ATP Part # CF194
12.18
or
ATP Part # RA101 (carbon)
14.72

WIX Part # 24030
18.60

The subaru filter is like a 1 ply toilet paper. You can literally see thru the filter
element it has maybe 2 layers. The atp filter has about 3 layers and is soft like a charmin toilet paper. The wix was just wow, not only was the filter constructed well but the filter element was robust, thick, and definitely higher quality than the oem and the atp. As the oem element is such rubbish I can see why it needs to be changed at 7.5k. The atp while
an improvement on the oem filter could probably be run to 12k/1year. The wix element can definitely pull 12k/1year. As I have always run wix filters I am sure this will hold up well in dirty nyc traffic. I will still change them twice a year and they are definitely worth the price. If you have allergies and want something with ALOT more filtering power definitely get the wix. I of course spritzed it with some fabreze for that
outdoor smell.

OEM at 5k
looks like thin cheap cotton swabs

wix filter in the middle, atp filter on the far right

oem filter at 8k on the left, oem filter at 5k on the right

I like how you compared the filter that determines the air we breathe to toilet paper LOL

Thanks for that, I'm almost coming to 13,000 miles so I need to take a peek at my cabin air filter. Will definitely get a WIX filter instead

Call me ignorant, but I consider the cabin air filter to be of marginal importance. So I plan to install the cheapest cabin air filters I can buy at the recommended interval, and not worry about the quality of those filters. Make them out of toilet paper? That's good enough.

Now as for the engine's air filter and oil filter, those are consumables where I'm very interested in using quality products.
