That's more like it. That is what my rear tire looks like. I don't have any pictures of my Z1000, but it is incredible how many "sport" bike tires don't look like that... .

I know what you mean man..I know what you mean. I regularly ride with 2 of my best friends, none of us are all that concerned with "stunting" we hit the "mountain runs" and just get silly with it. We live for the twisties

But then I have another friend who couldn't handle a 600 but started hanging out with a kid who had a 1000, sold the 600 and bought a 1000 so he could keep up with him on the highway

Nice bikes in here fella's....motor and pedal!

In a couple years I hope to have a cruiser as well, keep the 600 for me, and get a crusier for when the lil lady wants to go along.

Too bad chicken strips have very little to do with how fast you are in the canyons or on the track. The whole point of leaning off your seat and getting a knee down is to reduce lean angle and create more surface area of the tire that is coming into contact with the ground. This could possible create "chicken strips" or an un-used portion of the tire.... duhhhhhh

A motorcycle has to lean to turn--if you have two similar riders/bikes and both are hanging off to reduce lean angle, then to go faster, one has to use more tire--all things held constant. Go look at any race tire--car or bike--and tell me if the entire tire is being used.

This thread is making the money in my pocket burn--maybe I should go get rid of it

I agree with daveyboy, If you are riding fast enough to actually put you knee down then you will be using your entire tire right up to the edge. And on modern sportbike tires your contact patch is the largest when you are on that edge.

If your putting your knee down your tire will look something like mine. I use every last bit and i wish there was more.
