Hi all, apologies for digging up an older thread... I'm new to the forums, '15 Sport Limited, and am probably going to do this swap. Just curious if anyone who has performed this conversion has experienced any overheating issues etc- no one really ever came back for a follow up! Cheers

I've done this swap. Definitely a must to get rid of that nasty faded plastic lens.
You didn't specify so I'm assuming you mean regular halogen bulbs. I've run both halogen and LED bulbs with no problems. I'd be more worried about the stock housing overheating. |

If you're going to run any kind of film over the lens, just try to remember to shut them off if you're sitting in traffic or idling.
They're cooled by airflow when you're moving, but if sitting still the lens can get hot and the film can come off. |

Have heard this before but never experienced it- had independent fogs on the Mazda (plastic lenses, bulb nearly touched the front) and neither Hoen's nor 3k HID's made the film loosen... but I'll keep an eye on it of course!

I haven't experienced it either, but better safe than sorry.

Made the transplant successfully this evening... for anyone with a 15+ wondering, in addition to the one 10mm bolt, there is also a plastic push screw (philips) on the same side (top left of the mounting bracket, bolts were in the bottom left) that holds the housing in- older models I believe just had the bolt. Was particularly a bear to get out on the drivers side, pretty cramped over there. But it can be done without lifting the car/taking off the bumper- just drop the splash guards. I will be going back in to swap out the bulbs when my Hoens arrive...

I went with the OEM Outback fogs (Valeo)- there's a definite gap, not noticeable unless you're up close though. Might be kinda nice to put some trim around it to fill the gap at some point
