Default Looking for a MAF housing

Hi,

I have an 04 STI and I'm looking for a larger than stock MAF housing. I'm reaching 5 volts from my current housing right at 6k RPM so I'm needing to upgrade. I bought the kstech 83mm housing a week ago but I'm probably going to cancel because it hasn't shipped and I can't get in contact with the company. Their company number just goes to a guys cell phone who's voicemail is full and they don't respond to emails either. What are some other good options?

Also, my tuner said full speed density tunes kind of suck for these cars and he advises against it. Any merit to this? [email protected] before it starts going lean due to the MAF issue.

Thanks,
Joe

I will go check what one I took off my car in the morning, its an '04 that I went SD on.

Not sure what your tuner dislikes about tuning that way but mine preferred it and I have had no issue due to it being a SD tune.

Thanks, that would be great!

Yeah I'm not too sure. I've heard that a SD tune has several advantages over a MAF tune for high hp applications. One thing I've noticed about my current MAF tune is on cold start it always seems to want to search around the AFR for the correct idle. It takes forever to start and then bounced between 11 and 17 AFR for a minute or two before it starts idling at a good 14.6ish. I read that SD doesn't do this, and with SD I obviously won't have this MAF issue I'm experiencing right now plus I can have a vented BOV. I've also heard they're more lenient on boost/vacuum leaks.

...I may just find a new tuner.

My car has run very smooth on its SD tune, not oddities whatsoever.

No luck on the maf, must have given it to a friend or something. Sorry
