Default the official wheel/tire fitment thread: all fitment questions go here!

instead of being inundated with thread after thread asking the same question, one thread will do.

please let us know year and model (sedan vs wagon, wrx vs sti, etc), desired tire size, desired wheel specs, suspension mods, and whether or not you are willing to modify fenders. intended use of the car helps as well.

FLAMING will not be allowed in this thread as it is STRICTLY technical. so save the low offsets will destroy your wheel bearings, tire stretch is the worst thing to ever happen in the automotive world, and you're too low comments for member's car gallery.

don't hesitate to post pictures of your setups WITH wheel specs, tire size, ride height, alignment specs, and fender modifications.

There are several forums that have dedicated threads that ONLY SHOW pictures of different wheels/offsets, and tire sizes. Its about time we got a thread like this .

I went through some staggered offsets, so if you want to reference some specific tire sizes and offsets, look at either the front or back of my car (I'll list specs). I hope this helps people a little bit.

KEEP IN MIND: my fenders are HEAVILY modified, and I don't rub AT ALL. I'm typically the only one in my car, my fiance is with me maybe ~20% of the time, and really the only person that rides with me. Questions about if you rub or not are ALL BASED on how willing to modify your fenders, but I can help show you the maximum limit of stock fender modification. I'll try and break each stage of modification with each picture. This is for GD CHASSIS ONLY. I can't help with other models, except tell you where you will need to start rolling and/or pulling.

I'm know my car is so boring to look at, but bear with me.

17x9 +30 front + rear.
235/40/17 Yokohama S.Drive.
Camber -2* front -2.2* rear
Rolled front fenders, rolled and pulled rear. Trimmed rear bumper brackets (EvilChargerFan has a GREAT write up on this).

Heres a picture of the pull, and how much room I had to work with.

17x9 +15 rear +30 front.
235/40 s.drives.
Camber -2* front, -2.5* rear.
Added a 15mm spacer in the back, filled up the pull VERY nicely.

17x9 +15 rear +20 front. starting playing with offsets in the front. Pulled rear + Front.
235/40 s.drives
Camber -2.2* front, -2.5* rear

17x9 +10 front, +15 rear.
245/40/17 Federal ss595 (section width 254mm).
Camber -2.5* front, -3* rear.
Pulled rear fenders to their limit, almost 1" over stock at the widest point of the pull. Front fenders spaced about 1" as well. The front fenders are extremely weak, so I found spacing them to be a better option that attempting to pull them more (I learned this the hard way). This allowed me to "squat" the front end a little more, and add a nice rake to the ride height.

looks mostly the same from the front...but.....

Heres a picture of how I worked the rear fenders. You can see how I spaced the fenders. I basically pulled them from the rear of the panel, and relocated the bottom mounting tab. I don't have any detailed pictures of that procedure. If someone wants them, I can always go take some .

Heres the test fitment of 17x9 +10.

I imagine if I had stretched tires, I could have easily gone down to +0. I just sold these wheels though...so I will have something new soon.

I just mounted a set of 18x8.5 +20 front +25 rear temporarily with 245/35/18 S.Drives, so I will be keeping this post updated.

I met up with David (Changd123) today. Sold him my old wheels, and he was gracious enough to let me rock his spare wheels until my new ones come in XD. The white on Lightning Red has been my favorite color combo for a while, and let me tell you - the color is STUNNING in person. I made sure to get pictures before he took off!

This car is clean as ****! 17x9 +30 245/40 fed's, and I believe he mentioned the springs are Epic Engineering. STOCK CAMBER ADJUSTMENT! Rear fenders rolled, stock fronts. I advised him to roll the fronts, and to get some form of camber control before he goes lower. Theres a solid 1.3" of overhang in the fronts, rears are pretty flush.

God.. I want some fender work like that. Hopefully I can find someone reputable around in locally soon. Put some 18x9.5 +22 TE37s with 235/40/18 tires on and I'm poking a bit in the back. Need me some metal massaging. Currently running -1.8F and -2.5R with just the camber plates on Stance GR+ coilovers.

If I wasn't opposed to stretching tires, I could still have only rolled fenders and run the same effective offsets.

The thing is that my car actually does see track time, so the more I modify my fenders the more clearance I gain when I actually have a "proper" wheel set up allowing me to run virtually any size tire that will fit on my wheels - including R comps which run VERY wide. My current track set is 17x9 +42 with 265 RE70's.

Please make sure to include camber spec's (if possible) and tire brand/model when posting .

So im planning on purchasing a set of Rota Torque's from wheel dude in a couple of weeks. Im thinking about getting them in 17x8 or maybe 18x8. The car is a 2005 OBS SE with stock suspension that i plan on changing also. Maybe Tokico D-Specs with Swift springs? My major concern is what will i need to have done? Fender rolling/pulling, what camber settings should i go with, offset and what size tire would be best for that rim/suspension set up. Also should i wait to install the struts and springs then go with the wheels? This will be my summer set up as i already have a set of winter wheels/tires. Btw i like the look of the 17x9 +20 but dont want to do MAJOR fender work. Thats why i was thinking about going 17x8 or 18x8. Im also new to the forum so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
heres what the car looks like now

For me I am trying to understand what I will be getting into if I install 18x8.5 +44 offset wheels wrapped in 235x40x18 tires on my 2010 wrx with Eibach Pro Kit (1.4" lower front/1.1" rear). I would like to stay away from any modifications, but it appears that rolling fenders will be required.

You shouldn't need to roll. Depending on camber (1*-1.5* f/r), these should fit quite easily .

17x8's will be the easiest fit, and unless you need 18" to clear large brakes, they will be the best performance option as well.

Offsets you want: 40<x<53. As far as tires, I'd be on the look out for 225/45/17's, 235/40/17's, or 245/40/17's. Provided you obtain one of the offsets I mentioned, you should be able to fit almost any tire that will fit on that wheel.

If you want 18's, look for something in the same offset range. For tires, I'd be looking at 225/40/18's, 235/40/18's, or 245/35/18's.

Hello, first off i have a 2006 WRX and im currently in afghanistan hopefully did my re-search right cuz all the parts are bought and at my house, just waiting for me to get back, i have 18x9.5 Rota Grids, i as well purchased bridgestone extreme contact 255/35/18's and BC coilovers, i'm willing to get some serious fender modification for this to work, i just am looking for re-assurance that it will all go together as planned, oh and will camber bolts be enough for the rear or will i need plates? thank-you!

Oh yeah sorry about that, hadn't really dialed in the camber like I wanted yet so I didn't post. Right now, I only had the front and rear camber plates so the shop did what they could. The max they could do was -1.8F and -2.5R. Going to get my fenders pulled either Saturday or Sunday to get all the clearance I can.

I ordered a set a camber bolts for all four corners. Will that alone give me enough adjustment to give me -2.5F and -3.0R? I may fiddle with the suspension a bit Friday night before heading back for an alignment Saturday morning.

Bolts in the rear will give you an additional 1.5* over stock (most brands), it should be more than enough for what you need.

Expect to roll with the 255's, but depending on ride height and camber they won't be that bad. I know they made several versions of the 18x9.5 grids, which offset did you get? They made a +30, +35, +38 (+38 is the most common). If you are super low, plan to pull in the rear.

Camber bolts should be fine . Edit your original post to include camber spec's so we can keep chatter down.

Wheel : Rota Gravel 18x8/5x100/e48/56.1
Tires : Yoko S drives, Falken Azenis RT-615, Dunlop Star Spec
Tire Size : 225/40/18 or 235/35/18 (Which can I fit?)
Use : Spirited Driving & Occasional Auto-X
Suspension : Lowered on Eibach ProKit

Can I fit these without rolling?

Also, I cant justify buying another set of wheels just for Auto-X as it will only be 1 or 2 times a year. The stockers will be staying with Blizzaks so I cant do that either.

Thanks for the help!

Currently looking to replace my current tires, Just curious what would fit BEST on this setup, Im guessing either 245/35/18 or 255/35/18, my current setup has no rubbing.

If my wheel offset sucks and I should consider buying different wheels, Ill look into that also

As wide as you want to. I'd suggest anything from a 235/40, 245/35. or 255/35.

Offset sucks for your intended use, but if it works for you more power to you.

245/40/18 is a good fit to your gearing, but either the 245/35 or 255/35 would be acceptable choices as well .

Looking to avoid fender rolling (but not ruling it out completely), the 2 tires are chosen due to their price at tirerack.com right now ($150 each)... will the Star Specs that run wide actually be wider than the measured value, and perhaps closer to the 245 Michelin? I would like the tires to have squared side walls without rubbing...

thanks!

This set up seemed conservative compared to some of the others I've seen, just wanted to be sure before i ordered. Also is there anything else I should get (camber plates, bolts?) and will I run into issues w/ the coilovers.

Also would I need heavy modification to fit the 18x9.5's +38 (Deep concave face.)?

You should be able to clear either of those tires relatively easy as far as fender side goes, but inboard clearance will be close. I think with either of those tires you should be fine, but maybe someone will chime in saying otherwise.

255/40/18 is too tall, go with the sizes I suggested.

Coilovers will be perfect, definitely make sure you get either bolts or plates - which one doesnt really matter. Plates can give you more adjustment options though (some allow for 3* either direction, where as most bolts go 1.5*).

For the 18's it really depends on your ride height. If you aren't tucking tire, you could clear a 255/35/18 quite easily with a roll all around. If you are lower, you will either need to start looking at smaller tire options, or work your fenders more to fit the tires you want.
