Default Looking at ej207 v8 *need help*

I'll be looking at an ej207 v8 from a wrecked 02 bugeye sedan. I'll be swapping this over to my 02 wrx wagon.

I got a few things on my checklist to look for but I dont want to forget ANYTHING as I'll be driving over an hour away to look at the car.
Car currently will start and idle but will not drive due to the accident.
This will be my first time purchasing a motor let alone from a a wreck car, and I want to make sure I cover all my bases.
Ad says EVERYTHING included to get other car running. Harness, ecu, dp, wiring harness and a few goodies.

Owner agreed to a comp test if I wanted to. What else should I look for??

If you can have it comp tested, maybe you can have it leakdown tested?
Bring a long screwdriver in case you need to use it as a stethoscope to zero in on any funny noises.
The only thing I can think of offhand is change the oil on the motor before you buy it. If everything is good, the seller shouldn't care, and you get to see if there's metal in the oil and smell if he cooked the piss out of it. If I think of anything else I'll post it up but kinda braindead at the moment.

also i would make sure that you have a few thousand extra for things that can go wrong. cause you never know the biggest problem with buying used from a private seller is there is no much stuff that you cant know about the engine and there is no return or exchange but thats part of the gamble .

Lso look for cracks on the header up pipe, look at the oil lines and the front covers. if the front covers are broken I would pass
