Autocross is more exciting when you're not winning, but close to it!
You can always take up rallycross, Greg! More lenient rules but much harder on the car.... Jay

Unfortunately I didn't end up winning the finale. The times were certainly in the car, just not me when I needed it.
The victory for the finale was 50+ launches with no issues or breakage. Which for me was wonderful because no-one driving was let down by the car. I will say it sucked realizing in hindsight that that many launches with the launch control had pulled so much timing that by my runs Saturday afternoon my 60's were over 2.0XXX. None of us put 2 and 2 together unti Jason came back from is first run and said WTF is wrong with the car, it's anemic. After that we reset for Sunday morning before and in between sessions. I wish I would have thought of it Saturday because the afternoons were just thrown away. Lessoned learned as I was in new territory with that many drivers at a pro. Oh well lets see what we can do Fri/Sat. |

Just an FYI, that wing and scoop are not ESP legal. If the hood is CF it's not ESP legal either (can't tell if it's painted CF or black vinyl on a painted hood. |

edit, found this. but still seems illegal by 2nd paremeter? crap! 2. A spoiler may be added to the rear of the car provided it complies with either of the following: a) It is a production rear spoiler which is standard or optional equipment of a U.S. model of the vehicle, or an exact replica in an alternate material. b) It is a non-production rear spoiler which is mounted to the rearmost portion of the rear hatch, deck, or trunk lid. The spoiler may extend no more than 10 inches from the original bodywork in any direction. Alternatively, in a hatchback, the spoiler may be mounted to the rear hatch lid at or near the top of the hatch; in such a configuration the spoiler may extend no more than 4 inches from the original bodywork in any direction. The spoiler may be no wider than the bodywork, and it shall not protrude beyond the overall perimeter of the bodywork as viewed from above. The use of endplates is prohibited. Angle of attack is free. The spoiler may not function as a wing. X2! Very nice showing. Was hard to follow on sololive Last edited by PDLTURBO; 09-17-2009 at 12:35 AM. |

Can you expand on this a bit? I am curious if was a one-time deal, or did you notice it at Toledo too? Any idea what might have caused this? Have you talked to your tuner to see what they have to say? I am just curious because my codriver and I were using LC at the Finale (STU) for the first time. We did notice, though, that we both got progressively slower from heat-to-heat thus each sat on our Saturday morning runs. We chalked it up to the driver, but I am now wondering if the LC was at least partially a factor. We are running an E-Tune from Surgeline Tuning. (Not looking for excuses, but just want to know for future reference) Thanks for the input, Justin |

^^^^ Well I use th LC through the AP and even as cobb says what is happening is a violent act.
As it cuts the ecu is flaking out and begins to pull timing. It pulled so much the car was a joke ( around 32-33 launches. Hilary had some re-runs). We each attributed it to our driving until Jason said something. After the reset it was like the car had 40+ more horse and boost was back where it should be at ~ 2300 rpms. I didn't "notice" it in Toledo but that's not to say it wasn't happening. The battery in my car usually goes dead between events so I never noticed anything one event to another. I usually don't look for excuses either but 60's above 2,XXX just doesn't happen in the car in the dry, on a line with that much grip. On Sunday we reset the ecu between each drivers set (4 runs). I actually reset between my 2nd and 3rd run....hoping it would pull me out of my hole. I was a bit paranoid at that point. It was a different car Sunday morning. On Saturday afternoon the car had 0 power and almost no boost. It wasn't boosting until you went through the fast gates in the straight before the slalom. Not usual for my car. It has to be a very, very slow corner for my car not to be in boost. If you use it, reset between drivers. In the end it was a learning thing so for that I'm cool with it. It's absolutely awesome using it, it just has it's own side effects. Cheers Greg Last edited by mccanixx; 09-21-2009 at 09:18 PM. |

I really feel bad for not saying anything about how the car was acting "weird" but, I just figured it was me. You know I am crazy, I honestly figured Billy would say something to you since he did say something to me. Lesson learned, if the car is acting funny tell Greg so he can put it back to... erm "Greg Spec"

Thanks for the input. I wonder if there's any way around it? Or just keep resetting the ECU between drivers? That's kind of a pain.
