22 cars? Total? What are you a baby?

Here's an idea for you guys. Go to all the tit bars in your area review the girls and put it on the internet. Be the Doug and Hoovie of tits in Houston. You could rate them based on how many beers it takes to give them an all thumbs in. One guy perpetually single, other guy perpetually married. Billions of hits you become friends so much win. And tits!

Thats about how I would order a Jeep. Seems domestics have discovered how to bid up a price like MB, BMW and Porsche.
But think you could knock $10k and maybe $15k last few days of month. Know also FCA has distributors that inventory for other dealers or mater dealers and they have the big inventory and buy cheaper and discount bigger !

1045 option for lighting that should be standard on a vehicle that starts at 42k
1495 option for seats that should be standard on a vehicle that starts at 42
~3k to get all the body panels in the color they should be coming in on a vehicle that costs 42k
1495 DESTINATION FEE

What the actual fork do you even get for that base price?

So here’s the thing. The US auto companies factor in incentive pricing when setting the base MSRP for these vehicles since it’s been expected by customers for them to come out. The higher sticker price and add in’s are for the schmucks who just go out and blow money or lease them. Basically it’s icing on the cake profit when people go pay msrp with these vehicles and load them up. It’s like going to Best Buy and seeing that every TV is on sale all the time.

The other thing is that if the demand is there to justify the price and people keep throwing money at them, I see no reason for manufacturers to level or lower pricing. Once demand drops off enough to impact overall revenue and profitability, that’s when we’re likely to see pricing fall. Of course cost of materials needs to fall as well. The other big issue is labor. Labor is usually the most expensive piece of running a business. These companies do need to make profit, that should be a simple understanding. As it is now, auto sales for the big 3 have relatively low profit margins. I’d costs of goods or labor keep increasing, it should be expected for vehicles to increase as well.

Right, which is why I'm anti-marketing and tend to ignore that kind of crap. The fact that it works on basic bishes drives me nuts. It reminds me of a comedy I saw where the guys had a store literally named "Going Out Of Business."

I've compared "sale" priced goods to their non-sale priced versions, and the thing most idiots don't realize is that "50% off suggested retail price" doesn't matter because they never sold it for full suggested retail price to begin with. Case in point, last few times I went to the mall with the wife, i took note of shirt prices. $50 not on sale. $40 when "50% off" because the shirt's price was listed at $80 (the suggested price, not the price they actually sold it at).

It's so stupid that this crap works.

Agreed with there being no reason to change if people keep paying, but clearly it's hitting a breaking point. If labor is such a large part and just going to get worse as far as cost goes, I'm all for robotic automation replacing them. I don't need more mouth breathers in the way at walmart clogging the entire isle. I do need cheaper goods so I can have more fun toys, though

It would be one thing if this was actually a BASE vehicle, but it's $42k for a "UNLIMITED RUBICON", which is apparently pretty LIMITED

What are you getting in any run of the mill soft road FWD based CUV for $42k? Reliability? Definitely not getting the hardware.

What about the RAV4 and Highlander? I think you can load those up for under $42k.

The Wrangler Sport Unlimited starts at $32k and doesn't include AC or power windows. That includes a manual transmission (which many don't know how to drive today), cloth seats, and halogen headlamps. An auto trans is available for a $2,500 up-charge.

Wranglers have always been a minimalist, off-road SUV without creature comforts.. which was expected and accepted by the target audience. Now they're trying to make them more appealing to the masses along with an absurd price tag.

For reference, I paid ~$35k for my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with hardtop. A comparably spec'd 2020 is ~$12k more.

Locking front and rear diffs, Dana 44 front and rear axles, electronic disconnecting swaybar, 33 inch BFG K02's, 80:1 crawl ratio, rock rails, etc.

Not the kind of stuff most people are looking for

And a 130Ē wheelbase. Considering they compromised the **** out of the truck (wheelbase, breakover angles, departure angles, overall length while giving you a cramped cabin and shallow, narrow bed) to minimize uncommon parts from the wrangler, it should cost a lot less. They should have been able to realize some cost reduction by parts sharing so heavily. Ultimately, all that matters is that they can take the roof off and they can tell their buddies that it has F&R lockers, 33s stock, etc.

I really wish someone made something as capable as the Wrangler Rubicon from the factory without the removable top/doors. Lots of people love that stuff but the higher percentage probably never drive around with them removed.

We'll have to see what the new Bronco is like, the new Defender looks like it might have gone a little to far towards the creature comfort side of the scale.

Toyota use to have the FJ and their older (60ís) land cruiser. I wish they would bring one of those back.
