Wheel Spacers
Anyone have any luck with wheel spacers? I would like to get some for my bugeye. I wish I would have just bought some wide wheels but mine are 7.5 so I need some recommendations on a nice spacer to make it look more mean. Thanks!
Also where do I buy some nice blue or red beafy lug nuts?

Buying spacers for that reason is terribly wrong on about 15 levels, but I'll move this to the better forum so people smarter than I can tell you this.

sell your old wheels and buy something that fits right. Spacers will cost you as much as a wheel upgrade (if you do it right - and its easy to do it wrong, really easy...)
end of story. |

When I want to go buy a wheel that is offset, what do I look for in numbers? I defiantly want a beefy look. I want a 18 inch wheel and a 40 series tire. So do I need like a 9.5 width or 255 series tire or something?

Spacers themselves don't put any more stress on the hub as a wheel with the same net-offset. Example: Running +50 wheels with a 15mm spacer is going to put the exact same amount of stress on the hub as a +35 wheel would. The only thing bad about spacers is that they aren't as strong as buying a wheel with the same net-offset as the wheel + spacer setup.

which brings us to the fact that most dont torque their wheels or re-torque them and buying using the right wheels isnt a band aid used to patch poor decesion making |

^^^ which is exactly why I said earlier that it is easy to do spacers wrong, really wrong...
Most people doing spacers are going to buy some crap at Autozone, bolt them on and say "look at my awesome wheels, they are so ill!" Spending money on a quality set of spacers like H&R vs just buying the right wheels in the first place is dumb. NOW, buying a sick set of wheels and still needing some more track width and buying a set of quality spacers is legit. But that isn't what I think the OP has in mind. |

All I want to do is get some wheel spacers that make my wheels stick out a little furtherthan they are now. Will this really be dangerous?

if you want to run spacer just make sure you don't get those generic multi pattern spacers.
Get some decent spacers like H&R, Ichiba or project kics and you will be fine. Also remember to torque ur spacer and wheel lug often and there shouldn't be any problems. |

Just buy some good ones like H&R and quit listening to these telling you that your life will end if you do. I come from the S13/S14 crowd where spacers are used all the time, even up to 1.5", and have NEVER seen or heard of one failing.

Spacers are a band-aid that should be avoided if at all possible. If you do HAVE to get spacers, get something quality, like H&R. If you do get spacers, you really don't want to go more than 3mm with the stock studs. 5mm is possible but pushing it. Anything more than that and you will have to get extended wheel studs. Quote:

Depending on the wheel width, wheel offset, tire size, tire brand, suspension, and camber, you might be able to do a 255, but I'd play it safe and stick with a 245.
