our numbers are a little down, need to push and make sure we get more people to go

We had 26 cars for this event, we have been getting 40+ cars show up for TW in the last few years. need to get the word out.

...I think the rain discouraged some.

What rain? There was no rain during the event. Expert class even ran without a roof on top of their heads. Brrrrrrrrrrr.

gratuitous bump of the day....

I'm wondering if you can hear that. That funny noise? Yeah, that's me foaming at the mouth from whatever distance it is from you to Detroit. Are you freakin' SERIOUS? Jet powered go kart?! Phew... Phew.... let me take a little breather here. Okay there, now that the blood is returning to my brain, this little number is pretty slick and I'll tell you why. Any Joe Blow can stretch a go kart body and slap a snazzy engine on it, but it takes an artist to built an engine like this. Everyone knows turbos are really great at adding power to anything that makes your heart skip a beat, but did you also know that turbos can be retooled to act as jet engines? Indeed it's true. If you consider ...

..that a jet engine is essentially an open pipe with an intake, compressor, constant injection system, ignition system, and an exhaust system. The magic is that the compressor is powered by the exhaust gasses of compression, which also serve as the thrust. Now that this is established, it's not a long hop to get from turbo to jet engine. If one were to accidentally connect the outlet of the compressor to the intake of the impeller, then connect an injector and spark plug at the right places (along with an oil system) you have the makings of a jet engine. To mount to your go kart. Then you laugh maniacally. Mmmm. Do I really care if the nozzle geometry and aerodynamic routing severely impede the power production? No. Not at all. –Ben Wojdyla

This is a custom made Turbine with afterburner which is mounted on a stretched Trick Go kart frame. Engine will turn approx. 60,000 rpm's. Motor is very easy to operate. Runs on gas or diesel fuel. I have run the engine on the stand only. I started this project about a year ago, but just don't have the time to finish it. I have bought everything you need to finish it, fuel pumps, coils, fuel line, capacitors, oil tank... the only thing you will need to buy for the cart is a fuel cell and a battery.I have approx 2500.00 invested in this kart. The first time I started the engine in my garage almost every neighbor came out of there house, you will be the talk of the town with this. I also have a vhs tape of how the engine starts and shuts down... and yes it does sound just like a real jet engine...

For April 7, anybody looking for a navigator? I can run regular or expert, have Alfa equipment. Let me know ASAP so I can plan ahead. You drive, or if you want to nav, I will drive my Stealth. Split all costs, either way.

If for some reason I can't make my track day at Buttonwillow, I'll definitely be trying to make this event. Sounds like fun.

What, like this bad boy...

My only thought is that an analog clock would get bumped around too much on a rally.

yes, I have one on my left wrist, I compare it to the digital one on my right wrist, which I confirm with the two scientific ones on the dash that are accurate to the 1/10,000 of a sec.
