Nice! See the twig poking out in between the quarterpanel and bumper... I was way off track obviously!

Ahh.. good point scrager, Just got new tires. These look a little better!... I thrashed these tires in 11,000 miles bald and was guaranteed 50,000 miles out of them. So I get an 80% discount on my next set of tires. Yay!

This is a cool thread. Everyone seems to try and make there L's look like RS's though (I intend to do the same thing).

I already posted my car here is the link:

Hey, any of you guys with a '97 L have the 1.8? I found out that the 97 1.8 has more HP and torque than my car and want to know WHY!

I could be wrong but as far as I know the MY97 year didn't contain a 1.8L engine in it. At that point all imprezas became 2.2L and therefore had a great increase in Torque and HP.

Default The 1.8L is there in 1997.

My 1997 Brighton had a 1.8L in it. From my understanding, 1997 was the last year for the 1.8L engine.

Jose is right, the 1997 Impreza Brighton Coupe / Wagon / Sedan all had the 1.8 liter engine in it.

Scrager, my car was originally tan, I painted the whole thing black, leather inserts, RS upolstery, black carpet, mats, then the Aluminum trim.

I know the OEM light kit costs about $150-175.

Does anyone have experience with the OEM fogs compared to any other lights?

Thanks.
Steve.

yup- i'm sure everyone has had better experiences with their factory fog lights than me, mine are completely sealed- no cracks nothing, but they mysteriously fill up with water. I've had Subaru and private mechanics/body shops look at it and they can't figure it out. oh well, i guess i have a reason to put a body kit on my L with those big RS fog lights

The Hella Micro DE's are suppose to be nice.

I would like to know where you were looking and found OEM fog lights for that cheap? I payed a bunch of money on ebay for a set only to have them arrive missing a bracket (a little L peice of metal). I put them in after a lot of work.

This past weekend my car was pelted with gravel on the expressway from a guy who cut me off ina cunstruction zone and dented my hood, bumper, popped a hole in my windsheild and shattered a fog light. I am interested in upgrades to the old school L foglamps. What else would work?

Dude, that blows!
I have a few suggestions.
A. If you still have the 1995 bumper, do something like 96LConversion did, just take out those fogs and close off the holes with the gutter guard stuff, I think it looks great!
