Moroso Oil Pan Install:

Custom work done on the Moroso oil pan pick up tube. We didn't really want to use the the non o-ring mounting flange that pick up tube came with, so a Subaru o-ring flange was cut to fit, deburred and TIG welded in place.

The pan-to-pickup clearance wasn't what we wanted, so a custom CNC spacer plate was machined to give the additional clearance we wanted.

The completed install.

Wow dude I give you prop's, very nice car I love it. I was raised in a muscle car/V8 type family but I want my first car to be a GC, it's like blasphmey to them that I want a Subaru lol... they think I should get a camaro/trans am/nova/mustang but I don't really want to kill myself and I seem to really love Subaru's lol.

Very strange and disturbing people around tonight.

The car looks amazing. Tell me more about the spacer you had CNC'd.

I should of known it was you, as it was taken care of so fast the other mods were going "huh?"

Well, the story goes like this.. This isn't my first rodeo.

I've been racing for 25+ years, and a large portion of those years consisted of some quite serious racing - a supercharged (sponsored by Vortech) small block Ford that regularly spun to 10000 RPM in the "Street" class.

We learned that we needed a ~1/2" of clearance between the pan and pick-up to safely run the desired RPM. Otherwise the oil pump would starve and kill every thing else down line from that point.

After doing our mods to the Moroso pick-up we had less than 1/4" of clearance, which we knew wasn't not right. So we machined a plate to space the pan down to the clearance we wanted.

Simple fix. Doesn't everyone do it properly?

Thanks but for once it wasn't me swinging the ban stick

The spacer looks great. CNC is what I do for a living so whenever someone mentions my three favorite syllables I get all giddy and my curiosity goes through the roof.
