Default Does anyone have the wiring diagram for an 04 Sti cluster?

yes, I know theres thread (q356215374124123 of them) but none actually have a step by step process for an 04 Sti cluster into an 2002 WRX

everyone says the 04 cluster is a direct PNP ..WRONG!!!

and I been searching for about an hour now.

I think it is direct pnp but you have to cut off/file a tab on the new cluster plug so the pin can actually plug in. Try that, use pics from other threads. Hope it helps.

thats the thing 04 cluster requires no cutting at all.. I had a short in the MIDDLE connector which is supposed to be left intact according to the write ups.

Are you sure there was a short? I thought that you had to file a little plastic tab off the connector to actually make it fit into oem connection. Nothing to do with the actual wiring, but I'm not sure on all that so I would examine the two side by side and see if you can find a difference...

heres the 2002 WRX cluster and 2004 Sti cluster .. NO CUTTING is required to connect the plugs on an 04 Sti cluster. However, the connectors are upside down on the Sti cluster as opposed to the wrx cluster.

So I turned the connectors upside down on the wiring harness..connected them, turned on the car and got a burning smell.

THESE ARE THE (2BURNED CONNECTIONS \/ \/ \/ \/

I need to know where these go.

hmm thats very clear now. I wonder if you should have flipped all three? Perhaps when you flipped the 2 they then rerouted some of the pins back to a ++ or -- on the center plug to cause the short. I see it now, and honestly I'm not sure because I don't have direct experience with cluster work but maybe you have to flip the 3rd plug to keep all the circuits working the same direction. Thats all I've got my friend so I'll stay quiet now, but subscribed because I'm interested to know what you come up with. GL keep us posted
