Is this just a trick to see who has money on teh OT?

My family has money and I have been around the US but only to Prague and Vienna abroad. What are you wondering?

I don't really like to brag about money ever nor do I flaunt but if you really have a question then i'll answer it if I can.

not family money, self made... it's a different mindset.
My family does ok, I never really wanted. But I don't want to be a pariah.

I have a business I want to start, gotta talk to the guy here in about 2 weeks that I want to go in on it with me. I want to figure out how to get a job overseas, I want to get my MBA or at least go back to school for another semester and get another degree.

I need to leave this state, and I'd like to leave the country. I was trying with my current job, but they made it so contract employees can't move around within the company now. I really thought I was playing that right, but it looks like the curveball with that beaned me.

I'll give you my opinion.

If you wanna travel abroad you should probably do it as soon as possible before you get completely stuck in a job. I did not take a semester abroad and I regret it, so much that I might be taking a trip to europe for a month when I graduate. Everyone who I have met who has gone abroad has loved it and said its the time of thier life.

As for the MBA, right now I am applying to jobs up in NoVA to get out of school but I am also going to be taking the GMAT's soon and will be applying to some MBA programs including my school (VT) and might go to get my masters. The more I think about it the more I want to get my masters right now and not wait.

Thats what my thinking is and what I will probably be doing.

Or I will end up just getting some consulting job in NoVA and hate it.

I spent 2 months in greece, and i had the time of my life. It was 2 months full of new experiences, and it was very valuable to me. I wish I had taken a semester abroad when I was in school, c'est la vie.

I got ok grades in school, certainly not steller because I didn't take it seriously, which I'm kicking myself for, but again, that's life. So in the near future I know I'll be in a better mindset when I go back, I don't lack the brain power to do it, I just didn't have my priorities straight.

I just turned 25 and I'm realizing now is the time to take life by the horns and drive it to the direction that will dictate my future, I just need advice on how to get a good grip on the right horns.

edit:
25
Bachelors of univeristy studies.. if I go back for 1 semester I'll have a polisci degree, 2 semesters and I'll have poli sci and communications, 3 semesters poli sci, comm, and art along with my bus.
I've done web design, but mainly project management, I worked for apple, and for my school, and I've worked at my family jewelry store too. I'm working for Intel now, figured I'd get in at the bottom and move up fast, since I'm the only person in my area with a degree, but they screwed that for me.

I've worked with one of the founders of six sigma, greg brue, taken classes from the key figure in the diffusion of innovations (everett rodgers), and from the head of the DNC during watergate (fred harris). I'm fortunate to have been able to meet and learn from these great people

Harris- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_R._Harris
Rodgers- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everett_Rogers
and then some books by one of my clients:

i'd consider myself well traveled. i would also consider it one of the most influencial parts of my upbringing by a long shot. do it, and do it soon before you get locked down to something.

I paid for very few of them. my dad happened to have a job that was travel friendly with a lot of locations around the world and whatnot. my parents also felt that i would get a much more quality education wandering the streets of bangkok than i would sitting in history class. luckily i was a fairly smart kid, so it was easy to make up the work.

I recently moved back home (after the robberies) to save money on rent. The majority of that money has gone to trips. Month in CO, probably Italy in the spring.

That's cool man, awesome your parents had such a progressive outlook.

...and I'll never in a million years talk **** because others had different opportunities. If people don't use what is presented they are fools.

I'm eternally thankful for that. I'd much rather have spent my youth travelling than getting some inheritance or something.

While it's certainly fun to travel and see the world, or work in a foreign country and experience other cultures, that's just jerking off, if your goal is financial independence. You need to focus on what you want to do. Create your own opportunities, don't wait for them to come to you.

Getting wealthy is all about these four thing:
1. Your income
2. How much you spend
3. Return on your investments
4. Time

Your a young guy. You got time on your side. However #2 is the far most important part of the formula. Unless you can make much more than you spend you will never get rich. Travel will most likey just make you spend more. I would save that for after you make your millions.

It's all taught in English, 78% chinese, 22% foreigners, #1 business school in Asia and #22 in the world (according to the FT.com, which ranks the top 100 global MBA programs). It costs ~US$35,000 all in for 19 months, compared to US programs that start at about US$100,000. The school is a joint-venture between the EU government and the Chinese government.

Learning Chinese is a part of it, but I arrived only knowing how to say hello, thanks, and goodbye.
