Default question for the web design experts

Hi bishes!! Question for you all...

So sometimes when you visit a website, the moment you LOG IN TO IT or the moment you LEAVE IT, the page darkens and a pop-up screen comes up and says: JOIN OUR NEWSLETTER, INSERT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE bla bla. You can close it and continue to visit the website or you can close it and leave the website, or you can insert your email address...

So, my question is, is there a specific term for this? I want to implement this on my website but I have no idea what I'm looking for...

Also, if you can think of any website that currently does this, can you share?

Thanks bishes

Popover or Popup. It's almost always implemented with JavaScript. And it's almost always a way to annoy/reduce visitors.
