I'm a senior in high school. I know I'm very lucky, and not too many people could understand how thankful I am for what I have. My parents trust me, and I don't want to betray their trust, so I get good grades, I stay out of trouble, and I'm responsible.
My Wrx was my brother's car, and it was given to me as my first car. I've never gotten in an accident, or been pulled over for anything. I don't plan on any of those things happening either, because I don't do stupid things while I'm driving.
I plan on working hard so one day, if deserving, my kids can have a nice car too.

I got a new 2006 WRX when i was 17, junior year of college. I drove a 1990 dodge caravan for almost 2 1/2 years before i bought my Subaru outright with my own money. I'm 21 now and have no accidents or tickets... well, as long as parking tickets don't count

let's see, i graduated in 2006. got my first car (hand me down 98 camry with about 80k miles on it) from my parentals as a hand me down when i got my license ~16 years old (although everyone still drove it). my senior year, i found a 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab gun metal colored with a 4.7 liter v8 and a 5-speed manual for 10k. my parents paid for half as a graduation present. I just had to pay for the rest. while i had the truck, i was making really good money around age 19 and was saving up for who knows what car... then i got into the subie world and started looking at subies. found one for 15 and got it. it was a 2002 wrx that had a full 04 exterior and 2.5 shortblock with 650cc injectors, cat back, and a vf39. I bought it with the money i had saved up and with the money i made from selling the truck. the first week i had the subie, i noticed the rotors were warped, there was an oil leak and the tires were in bad shape. I took it to a local shop and they fixed it all for 1000. then a month later, the motor was done and leaking oil all over the place. had to have it rebuilt... so i went big... it was in the shop for just about a year so i had lots of time to save up (thats a different story...PM me for details on that) went fully forged internals, dom 3 turbo, gruppe-s headers, helix up pipe, ewg, greddy cat back, hks dp, 850cc injectors, methanol injection, version 4 jdm ra transmission, kaaz lsd, ported intake manifold, colder plugs, bigger intake, aps inlet, new wheels and tires, full suspension, etc etc etc... drove it for about 5000 miles with 0 boost and a 4k rpm cutout, then got tuned. drove it some more and around 9000 miles, the motor blew. took off the turbo, looked into the up pipe and it was white as snow... i found a new motor, dropped it in and im selling it. i will be either getting another ram or an 05 completely stock sti. lesson learned. lol that was fudging long

Unlike some of the kids here saying they are getting an STi or some crazy crap, I only say things if I'm sure they're real.

It's actually a Version 4.

If I would have had some torque and AWD it would have been over.

You guys be responsible with those Subies. It only takes one wrong judgment and you'll end up in a casket like my sister did at 16. Lost it around a corner and over-corrected into a tree. You don't want to do that to your family or anyone else's, trust me.
There was a 17 yr old kid at our HS that had a super nice new STi. He was so cool and all the girls loved his car until he died in that car after flying through the forest preserve, losing control, and hitting a van and then a tree. Nobody is sure exactly what happened because everyone involved is dead.

Try telling the kids parents that a young kid "deserves a chance" to drive a fast expensive car. It's simple, either the driving age should be raised, the requirements to pass drivers school need to be raised (as they have), or new drivers shouldn't have cars they can't handle. I don't care what the 16-18 yr olds say there is no "innate skill" that replaces driver experience. The only thing that kept me alive during some of the STUPID tricks i tried to pull in HS is the fact that my car was slow and crappy. I couldn't imagine the trouble i'd get in if my car actually got up to speed :/

In fact whenever I tell someone from my HS I drive an STi these days, they insist on telling me not to die, very unsettling.

Not ripping one any particular person in this thread. just sayin

be careful

slow in fast out

in highschool a VF-39 wrx would be a very fast car for a kid under 18, make sure to appreciate it.... i thought my 230 WHP VW was fast....

Lol I thought my bone stock 92 LX 5.0 Mustang was fast because it had a cold air, 3.73 gear, and exhaust . It was automatic too lol.

i'm 17 and have a 05 WRX w/ about 115,000 on it. spun a bearing a week after i got it because apparently the previous owner didn't change the oil as much as he should have and used napa filters.

still on the td04 for now w/ about every bolt on you can think of (44mm EWG + td04 FTMFW) but hoping to go to a fp hta68 w/ a blow-thru setup in the future once i get the money.

and yes i got lucky with parents who bought me this awesome car but i pay for all the mods and most maintenance if it's any consolation.
don't hate me

I didn't have a license until my junior year of college so I am simultaneously jealous of, and feel superior to, people here. No reason really. Please, stop trolling nasioc, I should be doing something... anything else.
