keeping off-topic, the coolant doesn't have to be changed for like 130k miles or some noise.

I'm not trying to argue or anything. I'm just posting to let others know just incase their dealer tries the same thing they did to me. Check in your owners manual and it explains it!

Also I changed the cabin filter my self. It's right behind your glove box or whatever it is. I think it was 10 bucks for a Fram. Dealer wanted 40 to do it.
You're right, my bad. I didn't remember. Yea, it was 60k for the other crap. And it was my brake fluid.
Cost me 440 still. Lame.

Thanks guys. Wasnt expecting compliments given the negativity on the forums. It was by far the easiest application of plastidip I have done. Everything else comes out rough, this is nice and satin-like. Definitely what I wanted. I didnt mean chrome per se, but "chromey" as I dislike shiny crap all over my car. I am pretty satisfied, and it only took a few minutes after taping everything off.

I think it looks good. I honestly think the SPT is probably one of the best looking exhausts out there. I love the flared tips and I like how it has a brushed finish vs. the polished of most. But if you don't like the look (and do like the sound), then the black tips seem like a good option. Curious how the Plasti Dip will hold up. I probably would have gone with some satin black, high temp paint.

Thanks. It was just to shiny for my tastes, and where I am moving I don't know how much flash I can get away with. I would rather minimize it. The sound is a bit much some times, but I heard my car driving off to the dealer and it isnt really loud outside, just the nice unequal length header rumble. The problem with paint is there is a lot more prep work, and is not as removable. I am injured as fuuuu right now so my gf did most of the taping off and whatnot...so at the very least it is the best option right now. Someone else said theyve had theirs dipped for more than a year now and its held up, so I have high hopes for it.

Sounds like you should just get the stock exhaust. Lol. Plasti Dip is a nice option though. Hopefully it can hold up to the heat. The quad tips usually don't get too hot, so you might be OK.

I absolutely agree. I tried. However the only offers I got from my local listing either flaked, or offered $200, which is too low for me, considering the cost of the SPT part from the factory. I am just hoping that if the temps do indeed get too high that it just looks bad, and not do some kind of damage. I heard that the real heat threshold for plastidip is more than 300F, but i have no idea how hot the tips really get.

What worries me is that even though I dont race or track, I will be taking some 5 hour road trips soon.

before pic for reference:

Yeah it was out in the front parking lot. Not many people were walking around there. But I'm liking your new WRX. I have a clip of you cruising by in a video I'm uploading to YouTube right now. Should be up sometime tomorrow.

The SPT may be expensive from the factory, but the abundant supply on the used market makes it go for fairly cheap. They can sell for as much as $500, but often go for as little as $200-300. I paid $200 + my stock exhaust for the first SPT I got, and I paid $280 straight cash for my second one.

Cruising on the highway shouldn't be an issue. It won't get nearly as hot as even 5-10 minutes on the track. I'd have to think that even if there is an issue, it won't be permanent. The Plasti Dip will probably still just peel off.

Yeah no kidding. plus shipping costs. I was pretty close to accepting the $200 lol, but held off. I'm not desperate. As long as this doesnt present a danger to me or my car, I am happy with there things are right now.
