While I had the IQ in for the 10,000 mile service I went and looked at a ST2 in the show room and man its a sharp car...

the headrest isn't adjustable?

I had a Ford 22 years ago. The "sport headrest" caused me to need 23 stitches when I got hit head on. So much for safety.

It goes up and down. It points forward way too much and caused my head to tilt down.

That's what she said.

Seriously though, the seats in my 11' Mustang are the same way, I can't stand it. I know they probably do it for crash test reasons to prevent neck injuries but comfort-wise, it is absolutely terrible.

They changed the head rests on the Mustangs for '12.

I really want a white ST with the black/grey Recaros. I'm getting a bit old for the fruity colors and interior options.

Yeah, I notice that too. Inches are different to different manufacturers apparently. I occasionally tote around 3 preteens, so the rear seat needs are based on that.

Exactly. I like the boring silver too. Bright Yellow or orange and/or two toned seats aint my cup of tea anymore.

You're probably thinking of MyFord Touch which is their horribly rated touchscreen interface..?

Have you tried turning the headrest around backwards?

Turning it around is what the magazines recommended. It apparently helped when wearing a helmet.

Purchase it or extended test drive?

I really didn't mind the blue interior. People said the sti interior was loud but that lasted well and still doesn't look dated, seats wize. Dash obviously was dated before production began.

My biggest light brand has a yellow and black logo. Maybe I could write off a yellow one as an advertising expense?

I couldn't lift it out. I'll try again.

And MyFord got bad ratings. I think the interface basics are great.

Why wouldn't you wait for what you want? It's not like they are going to run out.

Wouldn't a more forward headrest be safer in a collision? I thought that was their main purpose, my head never rests on the headrest.

I don't know what I want and I need something soon. I've been daily driving my 318. And for what I'm doing now zipping around town this will do nicely.

The headrest isn't so bad after I reclined the seats a bit more. The Sirius was acting up on the way home. :/

Then go get it. I think the black looks more mature.

Plus the weird hood gap doesn't show up as much.

I am going to make it a point to test drive one of these this weekend. I really like the Tangerine Scream/Exploding Power Ranger as someone put it best, color. I do feel that it could grow old after a year or so though.

Still, with the optional Recaros and nav, am I the only one that things ~ 30k is too much for a sub 300hp hot-hatch?

I mean, a base 13' GT is below 30k.

You get a lot though. Push button start is standard, package with Recaros also gets Sony audio, my ford touch, etc...

Sticker of 28.8k includes Nav and Moonroof. You can probably get it for $27.5k. I'd say that's a relative value compared to its class.

Different class than Mustang.

Lots of car for $26,950 indeed. Performance is not shabby either. The steering feel and turn in is the best I've ever driven actually. I'm not sure what you can get for under $30k now outside of an MS3.

I got the black. And yes it gives it a bit more mature look.

So did you buy it?

Better than an M5?

Also: GTI is easily under 30K
