I don't know enough about the Link tables but the typical process is to do as kelly said and zero out most compensations. It's important to log IAT in the process. Once boost is stable in all gears, you can start adjusting error corrections giving the ECU some adjustment range, but you should start by tuning it as though it were an MBC so no closed loop compensations. You cannot replace this part. It's a mistake to play with closed loop without a stable duty cycle curve. Just think of it as simple static tuning. Increase or decrease a cell, log boost and rinse and repeat till it's flat or to your liking. I think that's why Kelly is saying.

Once stable then move on to closed loop

Some ECUs have gear based compensations, as lower gears sometimes need a tad more duty to hit target since the load is less. Also you can apply IAT compensations by starting with the IAT you previously tuned at. Set that compensation to 0 correction for that temp since you know that no compensation is necesary under those conditions. If your IAT was 75, you can apply negative correction for colder temps and higher past 75. Then go out on a cold morning and see if the compensations were effective. There may be many compensations to help account for conditions, but at the core, you begin with repeatable conditions and treat it like it's 2d with the ECU doing nothing but following your commanded curve.

Colder temps means decreased shaft speed and energy required to hit target and thus lower duty cycles.

Also the solenoid makes a difference as some respond slowly and so a single percent change in duty can cause large changes in boost.

I was basing my advice on Junior's reputation. I assume that the basic curve was tuned in 4th gear and under stable temps so you can assume that you just have to figure out how to compensate from there. Any other tuner, and I would start over and zero out the comps and log.

I guess a rule of thumb is to never touch a compensation table unless you can use the rule
1) start static and under repeated conditions always
2) make small changes in response to datalogs. never guess
3) never be satisfied with a change unless you can repeat it
4) once stable move on to another condition like a different gear and repeat
5) when you find a change applies to one condition but not another, look at the compensation tables that address that changed condition
6) log log log

Did some pulls tonight. Input real data as much as possible into VD. I'm assuming that I weigh 210 right now, which is probably a bit too nice. Also assuming that VD has the weight of an 07 STi right because I was too lazy to verify.

Notice that the dips are gone also. At 0 smoothing they were still a little apparent, but not as bad as the dyno graph.

I had to stop. Snow is falling I felt er getting a little slippery.

Nice!^^That graph looks great! Man too bad you couldn't take her up to 7-7500, I'll bet the power would just keep pulling clear to 500 and your torque is over 400 now! What's changes did you make to the tune or fueling or maybe we're just seeing the better response on the road?

Other than giving it.over 70% throttle today and backing off the wgdc a little nothing!

This is in 3rd gear, i don't know what Junior used on dyno, but something to consider. Allan / Bariga / Kelly your cars have to feel like a rocket with ~20psi at 4000.
I havent started a pull at 2500 yet but im not seeing 21psi till after 4500. .. but again in 3rd.
It was fun for the two pulls i did do

Yeah, that sure is a beautiful power curve you have there!

Junior used 3rd gear in all my pulls a total of 5 pulls that Monday. I have not logged a 4th gear pull yet since the last tune because of the room it takes and the speeds! Prior to this tune I was hitting 28 psi at 3600 in 4th gear on E85 and 22psi at roughly the same rpm on pump. Definitely feels like a rocket!

That is some sexy sheeyat right there man. Enjoy that power and be careful putting it down in your conditions.

Our 93 vs their 92 will make a difference.

That weight difference in VD will also influence the numbers! Lol

I'll have to get a clean log but I loaded up a VD Dynojet plot and came up with 350 whp @ 15 psi. I really need moar boost.

Weight Reduction much Anton? Haha. That will help, especially cause the limited weighs more than normal Id imagine. Like i mentioned, it was as accurate as possible for weights.

Thats solid though kelly, what about torque

Lol, well is the metric button clicked in the settings?
For me, I dont care what it reads, I'm pumped it is what it is, but I will try to use the same **** everytime to make sure it is accurate. Since you asked anton, here is a new graph with boost plotted so you can read it.

Edit - Funny you asked Allan, there it is!!

We really do have good pump gas here in Michigan! We need it to make our domestic cars perform well!

That is what day GM makes all performance motors on. Needs all help they can get. People at work still dont believe that I made over 400 whp ( and dont get that is easily over 500 fly wheel ) on a "lawn mower engine"

I am going to try to get some good pulls and plots on VD next week when I am driving my car again on hopefully dry roads around Detroit. I'm glad it's not up here at my house now. We got 18+" of snow this week! couldn't pull **** with it around here now

Oh well skiing has been good the last coupe days! Skied the long closed Thunder Mtn resort yesterday and fried my legs skinning up it 12 or so times yesterday!

That and you're barly revving that thing. Look at the curve, you can tell it's not even close to topping out....look at the boost plot dead flat till the end of the graph! It wants more revs....give it to me you stingy bastard, you have the fuel!

Yeah it definitely wants it, but, just like at work Safety first!! This is plenty fast for now, I'm happy.
I'm hoping that dip comes out with the map I'm about to flash on here shortly.

Yesterday was the first time I even got over 6700, and it is definitely still pulling. according to that VD Graph.. 400+ WTQ @ Redline
