That's the other thing! What I meant to say above was "look at that torque plot, it's flat 400 and holding out to your underated redline. The turbo is just starting to wake up at 22 psi, the boost is under 21 although you will see it climb above 21 psi with more load on it. That's OK though you know how Junior has your timing maped. You have the valve train and cams for more rpm's, you have the fueling! What's your oiling like, that's the next question before you go above 7500. Wait until you are tuned on E85, you'll be like; WTF, I think is just spoiled my trousers! I know Dom has built very good oiling into the motor I have and I bought his 10 mm PnP'd oil pump to suit my motor and my car! I know I've revved my motor to 8K and it does that easily, the oil pump is pushing 90 psi at 8K! My issue is lack of fuel so i have to keep it below 7500 on E85, that's Juniors directive as we don't want it to lean out. I think once I have more injector then I can push my 58 lb./ min. turbo a bit harder and i'm sure find it's tip top end. I plotted a 3rd gear pull to 7900 a couple days before I had Junior's last tuning. I plotted a VD 3rd gear pull at 410 WHP on Juniors email pump map. The morning of the tune we were talking about it and he said; Oh we'll see 40 more HP over that today, then we made 460 WHP on the dyno on pump. I'm anxious to see how is it feels, spools and the power it makes on pump gas and VD again but I still have the car on E85 now, it may be hard to wean myself off that E85, it's fun having 400 WTQ before 4K!

The dip i was referring to was dip in boost, not the hp/tq curves sorry for confusion on that. As for the oiling, I'm data logging it so i could check, but quite honestly I'm seeing 85psi+ all the time so as long as she isn't running out of steam its okay.
No new map since the tune, i just sent Junior some logs n **** Thursday. The biggest issue i have is after driving, coming to a stop light or whatever, it dips down to 250 rpms for a while. I don't like that. i was driving down to flint yesterday and was listening to the knock block, and i think i got some bad gas or something cause it was really popping. I didnt have computer out but today ill get it set up. After Anton had my knock block i turned up the gain a couple clicks, so it might be a bit to sensitive. Oh i didnt know you were still running on corn ... im jealous. Yes he does. Prefers to do them in person but he'll do AP and OS over internet. And thanks. Me either, its probably going to be stupid fast or blow up Last edited by Layvon; 03-23-2013 at 08:19 AM. |

On that tank of fuel made it like 265 miles which was about 22mpg. Thats 100 miles of 60mph roads and the rest freeway/flint.
Wont have many updates this week, leaving for Louisville tomorrow at 8am. I need to get a few things situated on the car: - idle after driving dips way low, like pulling up to stop sign - knock setup - fender liners replaced - headlights wired up, cause right now all i have is high beams |

That's pretty good especially since you were probably gettin into the boost! Louisville for work? Youre gonna see some snow down there tomorrow. There's a weird south tracking storm coming through tonight, it's supposed to dump 5-8" on Indy!
Is the car AFR hunting a bit when you come to a stop? Mine was doing that a little before my last session with Jr but it actually got better the more I drove it. There is some learning in the stock ECU in my case. Does the Link have knock learning capabilities on it's own or do you have to set all the parameters? Your filter on your CAI must look like azz without the fender liners and our Michigan roads and debris! Headlights are not overrated that's for sure get it done! |

That's retarded. Im sick of snow. Hopefully the 90 miles south ill be is enough to avoid it.
I was getting into boost occasionally but i kept getting a slight knocking so i was pretty nice to it. Kelly n Anton have been helpin me with knock control. It does have the ability to learn, but right now it resets on ecu off. I have fender liners, they just don't fit perfectly because they are for an 04 vs the 07. I get a slight rubbing when turning right over 80. I don't have a cold air, just a monster short ram. |

Small update :
Not related to the motor or performance but some protection for my tinted windows. I have a Beltronics STi driver and have had it for a while and love it. The speaker pooped out on it about the time i started my build. I couldn't find an internal speaker for it so i bought the external for it. Wow. Loud. I had my radar detector powered off the map light switch on the left, and both lights powered by the right. Junior had fun with that. ... one of the funnier moments on the dyno. Today, i moved the power to the gauge power source i have so that it is on with key on. Thankfully the speaker came with a super long plug into the side of the radar detector. (3.5mm plug) i put the speaker in the vent passenger side by the hazard button. Once i got everything tested it was time for reassembling of the interior. Since i didn't run the speaker wire before hand i had to fight it, which sucked. Now that it is done, im glad. ... Tomorrow is the day to get some LC setup. Track sunday!! |

Cool, make sure to get some good clips of the passes!
I've got to switch my tune over to pump today for the drive down to Cinci! The E85 is fun but I only get 200-220 miles per tank! |

Haha you did! Darius (4warned) is going and he's like mr consistent. Going Sunday
Going to Stanton MI for the track. Good track, no lines. I think the longest line I've seen there is 15-20 cars. 131 is a decent track too but way too long of lines and farther away. |

Well... No track update today, apparently they thought it was too wet, I found dry pavement all the way to the track when I found out.
Cooked another wideband today practicing a launch. Getting really pissed about that. I dont think my sensor mount is vertical enough, so it is going to get shifted next weekend to completely vertical. I'm tired of effing around, and am ready to get serious... I might even move it back a few feet just to make sure. After doing about 3 hours of research tonight, these sensors dont like to be run richer than 10, which I see on occasion, so that probably doesn't help anything. I also think I am going to install this to make sure that I dont have any more oopsies. 60 dollars a sensor will make me run broke. Innovate makes this, and sense they utilize the same sensor I figured it would be worth while. For those that dont know, little insert not only shields the sensor from water at cold start but also helps cool the sensor and sensor body itself. If it saves one sensor it paid for itself. Bah. I really wanted to run today. I found out I need to work on 4 things while practicing: 2-3 Shifts. Balls to take it to 7k. Launches obviously and making sure I lift 100% of the way.
