![]() So my buddy brings me his computer becuase he is having trouble with this training thing for work loading right. So I bring it in and hook up monitor, mouse, keyboard.... and turn it on and all i get is like the top left corner of the desktop blown up to full screen with the recycle bin showing.
The recycle bin icon works, I can make a new folder on the desktop. but I can't get a start menu or ctrl alt del does not work, I have shut it off with the power button and back on still no luck any ideas whats going on? Its a HP pavilion a347x

![]() If that dont work, REBOOT!

![]() Couple of guesses:
1) resolution is way off. 2) Monitor is borked 3) Desktop and/or background is somehow corrupted, not from resolution though Only #2 can be tested by using another monitor; #1 and #3 need to be tested by going into Safe Mode first. If you can't get in there, you aren't hitting F8 early enough. Even I have trouble with that once in a while and it might take me a couple of tries. ![]() -Biggly |
