ok here it is, a 1995 impreza 2.2l. 170,000 miles. automatic, all wheel drive. timing belt idler pulley blew apart on highway. Got new pully, timing belt and crank sensor and cam sensor from local dealer. Installed new parts, car turns over fine but will not start. Pulled codes, p0201, po202, p0203, p0204.. Fuel injector circuits open. hooked up noid light set.. i have injector pulses. Tried starting fluid, no luck. checked for spark, got that. checked compression, 120psi in all cylinders. checked and rechecked timing, it is dead on. I know that this 2.2 is not an interference engine. or so i have been told. Any Ideas??????? i am ready to junk this car

Just a thought, but make sure your crank sprocket is in good condition. With all those parts flying around, you could have damaged a Crank Sprocket ear that the Crank Sensor uses to detect revolutions. Here is a pic:
I take it that the timing belt came off the car? Are all the pistons in the middle of the cylinder when the timing marks are lined up? If so, the white arrow on the crank sprocket will be pointing to the driver's side of the car. -Charles- edit: New photo Last edited by ImprezaVA; 12-24-2005 at 02:51 PM. |

Charles,
your picture showed me something I did not know.. I had the arrow on the crank pointed up to the timing mark on the block. I fixed that and the car started first try. Thanks alot for the help. Eric |
