Does the Nova launcher support the new gesture navigation features and active recent apps feature?

Yeah my Moto G4 and my wife's Moto G Play don't have the notification LED. Never had a problem without it. My work phone (S8+) has it and it just makes me look at it more lol

I always disabled the notification led. I find it annoying, plus it drains battery.
A friend set his phone up to flash the flash light whenever he gets a text or something important like that. Even his wife finds it annoying

Always on displays make the LED 100% obsolete. I was concerned when I got the 2XL but decided not to enable the notification light and haven't missed it in the slightest.

Yeah IIRC that's something you could do on the iphone. I had a work iphone a few years back and I was like "cool! notification light!" Nope. That **** is ****ing obnoxious.

I like the notification led, the always on display is too ****ing bright. That said, the s9 has a pretty dim led to begin with.

Pixel 3 owners: Are you on the October security patch?

My 3XL is not, my 2XL was on it, but my 3 isn't.

Double checked to make sure I was OFF the Beta, and I am. Still no October patch.

Notification LED on my Nexus One was really awesome.

That being said, it's not a feature I miss at all.

Well, on my Pixel 2 XL, it was barely noticeable. So living without it on my 3 is easy.

Yep. It was cool on the N1 and useful up until a couple years ago but now? Who gives a ****?

After some quick Googling, I read that it's common. We'll get November and then be back up to par.

Apparently worked the same way last year with the 2's.

Is there a native way to backup call log and SMS to Gmail? I had it synced in the past, not sure if it was with third party or Google software. I found in Gmail app settings that those (SMS/call log) folders are not synced. Can't seem to find how to sync them.

I didn't read it in great detail, but it sure sounds like what you're looking for.

I pulled the trigger on a Pixel 3XL (white, 64GB, Project Fi). Estimated delivery is 11/7-11/8.

My 6P, that I loved for the first year or two, is dying. It used to reboot seemingly randomly (that stopped a couple patches ago). It refuses to stay connected to any of the wifi networks at work (connect - disconnect rinse, wash, repeat constantly...but only work networks and that didn't start happening until a couple patches ago. I don't have this issue at all on other wifi networks.).

But the worst problem is the battery...according to AccuBattery it's down to 27% of original capacity. Depending on the app/usage I get a max of 1 hour and a min of 30 minutes of usage (100% charge at start). There have been times when I've got from 100% to shut down in 10 minutes.

I've chatted with Google about it, tried all sorts of fixes. It's disappointing but I'm not a big time phone user so I'm (relatively) cool with it/can deal with it.

I recognize that since I'm not a big time phone user that getting the 3XL is overkill. I've seen the pictures & reviews and that's all good. I'm looking forward to having a "fancy" phone (didn't get the 6P until it wasn't the hotness anymore). And a white phone just sounds cool

No ragrets.

My 3XL is also September. It got here on Friday, but I didn't get back into town until last night to get it set up. Great phone.

So I "pre-ordered" a Pixel 3...and the shipping date keeps sliding. Not really a pre-order when the item is available in stores weeks ahead of the so called pre-order

After some digging I found that google's native backup is to Google Drive, not Gmail. I must have had a 3rd party app in the past that created the SMS and Call Log folders in my Gmail account and that's what threw me off. The backup controls are in Settings>System>Advanced>Backup on Android 9.

In the past I used an app called SMS Backup and Restore and it worked well

That and SMS backup+ seem to be the two best. I think I used one of those with my 6P but with the pixel2 and/or pie they are redundant.

Pixel 3/3XL will apparently only 10W fast wireless charge with the overpriced $80 Pixel Stand. They're limiting 3rd party chargers to 5W even if the charger supports the fast charging standard. That's pretty ****ty. Samsung doesn't do that (they pioneered fast Qi charging) and neither does Apple.

Sell me the 6p for cheap. I need a screen and don't care about anything else working.

That stinks. However, with that being said, the "fast" charge on the 3 is indeed fast...even with 3rd party equipment. Faster than on the 2 anyway.

I wonder if that has anything to do with battery health. They could be limiting the charging speed because they're unsure of how the 3rd party stands dissipate heat which speeds up battery degradation.

He's talking about wireless charging. The Pixel 2 doesn't have wireless charging.

Sorry, my bad...misread.

However, I do have a 3rd party wireless charger, and while not like lightning, it's still pretty good.
