I have a new bank I need to deal with (solar install loan) and I need to make the first payment. Set up an online account the other day. Go to log in today to make the payment and they ask a couple security questions. Well, I must have typed the answer wrong and it denied me. ONE TIME, I got the answer wrong and now I have to call customer service.

FUUUU

edit: yay, found a way around it. Remote logged in from my home computer. Suck it, bank!

Have a coworker that speaks 3 languages. Good for him.

However, I've noticed that I constantly (over)hear him having loud conversations in the non-English languages over the phone.

I just realized today that he also routinely has phone calls in English, but at a much lower and barely audible volume more consistent with a normal quiet office environment.

As I sit several rows away, I walked over and asked a couple of people who sit right next to him, and they confirmed that he does indeed speak very quietly in English, goes all drunk-talking-over-the-crowd only in the other languages.

I wondered if perhaps it was a culture thing, so I inquired to some of my friends who are from the same countries and they confirmed that nope....he's just being a dick because he thinks nobody can understand him anyway.

I swear I'm going to go learn just enough of one of those other languages to embarrass him one good time so he'll quiet the hell down.

I sort of hate everything about where I work and am honestly afraid to leave and finding out it could be worse. The last five years has been "this place is nice" 3 months "there's an all hands on friday and everyone needs to be there." Whelp, they're making cuts but the three months was nice and I got a lot of free ice-cream, met new people and drank a lot of hot chocolate. I'm not being cut? Sure? Yeah you should probably cut those people that seem to really understand what's going on here and keep me being that I understand we do "something with computers".

The next six months is spent with someone 'important' asking 'who does this important thing'!!! One of the people you cut. That other thing you're about to ask about.. the other person you cut. I'm just here for the hot chocolate and noticed these things not that I have any answers to anything you need done.

It's that cycle of "nioce" things are awesome and the there's an all hands. Or the one person standing between 'us' and people that should be tossed down stairwells leaves because it's the best thing to do and now I'm dealing with people that should be tossed down a stairwell until I find something else.

I don't want to know how it could be worse. 5 people leaving within a few months... there's something wrong and management somehow doesn't seem to understand most people can deal with ****ting people or a ****ty job... the thing they pretend to do. Both things being incredibly ****ty... ah... looks like 'everyone' is trying to leave. Good times. Being somewhat new I tried to get the manager that's upset about everyone leaving to tell me what she expects/wants to happen but doesn't see a connection of "adults" don't really want to be in a place where other "adults" yell at and lecture them about thing they couldn't give two ****s about while being told in different ways how easily they can be fired. "If they're trying to get people to stay yelling at them and telling them how easy they can be fired is an interesting way of doing things" I mentioned to my boss.

Ah, they're retarded... can't help with that. They say what they want and about three sentences later say exactly the exact opposite of what they just said. I listened and mentioned there might be some sort of confusion about what's expected since what I'm being told now is very much forbidden in the documentation I was given the first day. I'm not trying to "catch you" in some sort of fib or whatever is going on in that crazy pants head I just want some sort of sense of my job is. And I honestly don't think I have one... it's not as great as I thought it would be, being paid to wonder aimlessly and annoying people when they say things like "do what you're comfortable with" and they're not sure if they want to laugh or be angry at not being comfortable with doing anything since no one can tell me what I am supposed to do AND it be the same thing over a two day span.

We finally got that law in WA this year. Everyone who gets a license or ID card from the DOL will be automatically registered to vote.

That shouldn't be necessary since polling locations are some primitive bull****. 100% of our voting is by mail in WA. I already got my ballot and it doesn't have to be mailed back or put in a drop box until November 6th. About the only excuse to not vote is death.

Driving in circles around some dirt field somewhere in a beat to **** Legacy doesn't make you a professional rally car driver nor do you have a "rally car racing team".

Things I find myself wishing for more and more these days:
* At fault accidents due to mobile phone distractions being treated exactly like a DUI.
* A day when HOV stickers mean full electric, CNG or fuel cell only, not plugin hybrid.

Why does people driving Subarus off road make you so upset?

Back when I RallyX'd regularly there were an incredibly nice group of people. Although there was one guy who I could definitely relate your grip to.

When I come to power people caught texting while driving will be summarily executed on the side of the road and their families will be billed for the bullet.

Another FedEx gripe. Expecting 2 items from them today, and FedEx generally arrives around 1500-1700. Great, I'll make it home then. Nope! one is FedEx express and was attempted at 1000 when I'm at work. Now I have to have it sent to a pickup location 30 minutes away, since the next attempt will be tomorrow morning! Why in all of the technology we have, can't all the required information for the shipping be given to the customer, like a signature requirement when the item is shipped??

There are both upsides and downside to living in the sticks.

A real baller would pay to have dedicated fiber run to his crib.

Iíve got no problem with the actual driving. I just think youíre sort of dumb if you think driving a beater around a dirt field in the middle of nowhere puts you on par with Colin McRae. It's the attitude, not the actual act.

They will be eventually. Drunk driving was treated the same way back in the day until the body count got too high and people started to realize it needed to be curbed.

I saw a bad accident this morning that was probably cell phone related. Traffic off an off ramp had the light and someone ran the light and plowed into them. Four crumpled cars sitting in a heap in the middle of the intersection.
