Was Icy up top there (plus people) )

Was the perfect Emtb ride. Steep, tech climbing and gnarly dh.

I used Boost a little bit on the steepest, rockiest, rootiest climb and the rest Trail. Was down to 1 bar after this ride, red on the display. Pretty happy with the Shimano system. Totally happy with the Commencal 29.

Mountain Lion is my favorite ride around here, electric or not. I also revert to Boost on the last climb before the start of Through the Trees. Iíve almost but not yet cleared it after the left turn, with the big roots and general looseness.

Yeah I love GG in general. Mountain Lion never disappoints. The Snowshoe DH segment is good fun too but a bit short. I've not cleaned that climbing section either but was oh so close yesterday. Was nursing the battery a bit by that point so stayed in Trail. Boost is definitely better for the really steep sections. It would be nice to have more battery capacity than 500WH.

I bought an extra battery. 8 Torx bolts and two 4 mm Allens to swap since itís covered on my Pivot, so a 15 minute affair at the car, not something to do on the trail even if I carried it.

Bit easier on my bike I just need to remember the key. Really though 500WH on trail is usually enough. I suppose it would be nice to ride on Boost all the time but trail is plenty.

The 700WH battery available on the Specialized Turbo Levo might be perfect. 40% more range (assuming equal efficiency) would be nice. They claim I believe a 20kg weight which is pretty great for that much bike and battery. I demoed one with the 500wh battery and it was pretty awesome. More trail then enduro focused like my Commencal but with a few parts swaps it could be quite good.

Yasss. Class 1 e-bikes, like those that Compressed and I both have, are now permanently legal on JeffCo Open Space trails. (They were in a one year trial period limbo state. They remain permanently legal on CO State Parks trails, too.)

Great news! Thanks for posting.

I enjoy riding my emtb so much more than pedal bike. Time spent climbing to descending is still more heavily on climbing but now maybe 3:1 not 10:1. Much better ratio. I'll still have my non assist mountain bikes but having a emtb in the quiver is so nice. Super nice to not be so fatigued after a good hard mountain bike ride. This might be location dependent, but in CO where one must climb at least 1500' before any descent well assist is nice.

Yup. An online buddy from PA was all "what's the point?" but then he revealed that the climbs at his local areas are 10 min max. Yeah, not like that here...
